Very true! The reenactors at Utah beach in France during the 80th anniversary were not allowed to use landing craft, instead they had to run into the water and then run back on to the beach. Disgraceful in my opinion.

I just wanna say how much I appreciate History Secrets he makes great videos and I love his jokes, they are one of the only reasons I love history now. Since I started watching I've been collecting my own ww2 gear and relics and I would love to go out and reenact but because I am 13 I'm to young. I need to wait a long time before I am allowed and original stuff is so expensive. Anyway thanks for being a great person Nick.

I'm from the UK and love what the Dutch do to commemorate the action of the Allies to free your country. Unfortunately those cyclists don't!!
@died4us5903 күн бұрын
Those cyclists shouldn't even have been on the route, I'm sure they knew about the event. I hope the person injured on their old wwll motorcycle make a police report, and persue whoever caused the accident pays for the repairs, because there aren't a lot of those around. I notice a lot of people having trouble with cyclists thinking they own the road, and causing accidents. They should have had respect for honouring the liberation of their country.

Incredible video. For years, you see black n white and low quality videos and try to picture what it really looked like back in WW2. This video gives you a great sense and accurate depiction of what it really looked like in WW2. I was waiting for the town's people and the girls to come running up with flowers and jumping on the vehicles to get a kiss...haaaaa

Thau DUWK is nice, i really love old military vehicle's and gear. I hope to have my 54 Jeep m38A1 24 volt, with the fording system done by next fall. I have spent a lot of hour's taking every nut and bolt apart, and have many more hour's to go. You could restore one of these old rigs, they left plenty over there, USED, NOS, and good reproduction parts are available, and they don't cost to much. They have the shop manuals to, and rebuilding the power plant and other parts is pretty simple. The way you restore the gear you collect, i know you could do the paint and any body work. I'd love to get a deuce and a half, and an ambulance from wwll, my grandpa was a medic, the other one was an anti tank artillery sergeant, and also blew a lot of stuff up, before and after the war. You made it to two 80th anniversary reenactments , two different country's within a few month's, hope fully next year you'll be doing the US reenactment since you have a connection now. It would be cool to do a meet up, you've been adopted by the American's lol, and if you get hitched, you could become a citizen. Thanks for putting out so many video's, it had been awhile. G-d bless.
@History-Secrets2 күн бұрын
It really is an awesome vehicle!! There are a lot more military vehicle videos coming up! I will probably start posting videos about restoration projects of vehicles, and also my own motorcycle! There are also a lot more reenactment videos on the way, all with lots and lots of vehicles to see! Thank you for watching, will be back in the States again soon! 🇺🇲
@died4us5902 күн бұрын
I will look forward to the vehicle restoration video's, is your motorcycle a military unit? I used to ride a motorcycle, but i traded it for a 53 jeep cj5 rusted out body on s 55 m38a1 frame and drive line. The motor was junk, but everything else was. good. I was looking for a m38a1 body, but got lucky and found the m38a1 with the 24 volt stuff intact, so i parted out the 53, and saved everything good. Today i finally got everything striped down on the 54 m38a1, and have the frame and tub sitting on two 4x4's. I used jack stands, and 3 floor Jack's to safely set it down on my shop floor. This will make taking the tub off much easier, and easier to degrease and seal the frame. I look forward to the reenactment video's to, because my grandpa's were at D-Day, and my paternal grandpa was at the battle of the bulge. He helped blow stuff with the engineer's. Before he psssed away, the governot sent him an arm band for being in the battle of the bulge. He said that it only took them 40 year's lol. You and your girlfriend drove by my exit in Grass Lake Michigan off I-94, i was thinking plenty of people would have done a meet up. I imagine your girlfriend will be looking forward to you coming back over. We adopt you over here, you fit in just fine. Appreciate all these video's.

I like the country look, because i grew up on a farm, and the sunflower field and the corn bring back good memories of my brother, cousin, and myself running wild, especially on my grandpa's farm. My grandpa blew a lot of stuff up in wwll, and back home he cleared out the tree line with dynamite, and it's pretty fun as a kid pushing the plunger and watching the carnage lol. We used to sneak cans of gun powder out of the shop, mix it with gasoline in a bottle, stuff a thin rag down the neck, and light it on fire and throw it in the plowed cornfield, guess we were lucky not to get killed. Back in the 70's and early 80's, no one paid attention to what kid's were doing. My brother did set a small pile of gunpowder on fire one time, and it blew up in his face, so he ran like hell and jumped into the swimming hole. He torched off his eyebrows, and his hair and face were black like in the movie's when they show people blowing stuff up. We played war kinda crazy back then. My grandpa taught us how to shoot before we were ten, so it's really his fault, plus he made a canon and would blow all kinds of stuff up with that. America used to be much different back then, not all this crazy stuff going on now. G-d bless.

Eighty years of freedom, a precious way, Honoring the heroes who paved our day. We cherish their courage, their strength, their fight, And hold onto freedom, morning and night. Together we remember, with joy and with pain, That we may live freely, in sunshine and rain.
