Enjoying your work. Not a modeler myself but I like the total escape from my normal day that I get from watching your videos. For someone relatively new to it your layout looks great. Your eye for a shot and the videos you produce are virtually unique and are for me far more engaging than the more usual style which mostly consists of trains going round in circles. And all toped of with your dry as dust take it or leave it attitude delivered in a friendly Yorkshire accent. I think you are on to something.

Another thought if u are running Kadee couplings like I do on my American stock check the long arm that hangs down inst jamming against the point if so use pliers to bend it up or file it down as I have had locos come to a complete stop n fall over or jam against the point and the wheels are still spinning.good luck enjoy your videos.

Cheers for the suggestions 👍 will have a look Next time I’m up there. I haven’t got one of the gauges to test the wheels I’ll have to get one.

Hi Dave, your layout looks great at night. Nice lightning and we got a glimpse of the viaduct in the dark. Better not mess around or the security cameras will pick you up, another winner with my grandson 😁. Looking forward to your next video .....cheers James 🙂👍

Dave just a thing are the ploughs right on the 37 they dont look right, They are not upside down are they?
@doubleodave8 ай бұрын
Haha they were falling off Tony I didn’t realise until after the video, those ones just balance in place I assume you’re supposed to glue them but didn’t fancy that just yet, anyway I think they’d caught up on one of the Kadee magnets that was a bit high and it half pulled it off and I didn’t notice. Good spot though 👍

Just discovered your channel this morning. Layout looks great. Your derailing issue could be caused by a sticky kinematic coupling. The Accurascale class55 Deltic has the same problem. The fix with the Deltic is to file a little bit from the point of the coupling to make it a little bit rounder. There are a few videos on KZbin showing how to do it. Hope this helps.

37 issue could be wheel back to backs are slightly off on the bogie that derails possible? Also check the coupling holder isn’t getting caught up.
@doubleodave11 ай бұрын
Cheers for that I’ll have a look into it 👍
@Class37..11 ай бұрын
Maybe weight distribution in the model or check you wheel gauge is correct with a back to back other than that not sure don’t own a accurascale 37 .mine are all the new Bachman’s.

It de-rails due to one of the rails being longer than the other, and the wheel tyres grip the longer side, then wheelspins the opposite wheel of the axle, or the opposite one wheel brakes and the other de-rails. Try polishing the point with autosol, so it's less grippy.

That lump of rail could of been under a level crossing once as they used to paint rails with anti corrosion paint

So pleased I sent mine back for a refund after being so sad when I did, it’s a beautiful model but AS clearly have huge issues with the Class 37 😵
@doubleodave11 ай бұрын
I'm actually happy enough with them overall and would still keep it if it can't be rectified i would just run it the other way round where it doesn't derail.
@finlayfraser995211 ай бұрын
Aren't your model men a bit over scale?
@doubleodave11 ай бұрын
Hi, No, believe it or not the odd one is actually under scale (HO woodland scenics) but have kept most of those out of the way the main ones are Bachmann Scenecraft OO scale. Probably the perspective from the camera angle at times 👍
