I was born in Memphis and would visit Libertyland quite often. Truly fond memories of that theme park. 🥲

I was born in 1987. My entire childhood and most of my earlier teen years were spent here. Even though it is gone now, if there was a way to go back in time, I would know every single ride and how to get around there just like I was there, yesterday. ♥️💔

@@jamiepan7650 Yes! It was a great place to visit and you'd stay for hours without even realizing it! The Whack -A- Mole game, the miniature train would take you around the entire amusement park, music, food was all so amazing! Then once each year for about two weeks the Mid-South Fair would join Liberty Land on the same property; and it was epic! Sadly those days are gone and I doubt if they'll ever return.

Omg! Thanks for this video!! I'm back in Memphis after 25 years and my heart is broken at the way things have deteriorated! I LOVED living in Hickory Hill near the mall when I was a management trainee for International Paper. Id just moved from London. My friends bought in Germantown but I told them HHill was gonna be the p/ace to be. So sad how wrong I was. What happened to my wonderful Memphis?!

Fatherless children is one of the biggest reasons, in my opinion. That reason being multiplied by a welfare system that strongly fiscally encourages single mothers and a city government being run by seedy politicians that are only in office to line their pockets.

Fatherless children and their mothers who were moved out of the housing projects then given section 8 vouchers. They were moved around the city, but hickory hill was the favorite spot, close to the mall of Memphis and hickory ridge mall.

@@miurasvlamborghini It was not the fatherless children. During the 60s and 70s there was not too many people on welfare and food stamps, section 8 either. People had jobs , many of them left Memphis TN. If you have poverty you will have an increase in crime. Crime didn't get bad in Memphis TN till Crack came in the mid 80s. Crack changed the landscape across America, especially inner cities

I’m miss libertyland that was the best place to go too on the weekends I hated that they close it down and demolished it back in 2005. Memphis got rid of all the good places like mall of Memphis celebration station and libertyland.

@@Verge513 Celebration Station had an indoor roller coaster? The last time I went there was the mid 90s, and I don't remember that. I guess it came later? I hate I missed out on that. I remember there was a really awesome arcade called X-Site that had an indoor arcade and some other small rides.

Wow. Thanks for the memory. It's an empty lot with the parking lot as a tailgating area. I've forgotten how Liberty land was set up until I watched this video. Sometimes I sit the parking lot during my lunch hour and riminence. How O wish it was still there. Thanks again
