Since 1976, workers have been going to Libya from Bangladesh. In late 2015, the Bangladesh government stopped sending workers to Libya due to political unrest and the trend of illegal remittances from Libya to Europe. The Honorable Expatriate Welfare Minister from Bangladesh Imran Ahmed signed all these agreements in Tripoli, the capital of Libya on October 25, 2023.
