I think the woman on the cover is Jane Seymour, the mother of Edward. The painting was made with Henry, Edward (the heir) and Jane Seymour who was Henry's favourite wife. The portrait seems to be cut because in the original you see Mary and Elizabeth on the side

Don't know whether it's cut, but you're right it's Jane Seymour on the right not Eliz I.

Love Tudor history. I love that there is now a completely reevaluation of Anne Boleyn who was sadly the victim of a disgusting character assassination and I hate that Henry believed the lies that were told about her

So glad with this reading. If you could find books on the wives of Henry I would very much appreciate it. Know a lot of Anne Boleyn and Catharina from Aragon but love to know more about the others (just know them from the series the Tudors). Just an idea 😉
