Interesting video! The strangest myth I’ve heard is from an acquaintance of mine, who likes to wind me up by claiming that Elizabeth I was actually a man; that the real Elizabeth died when she was a child and they secretly replaced her with a boy. I think, in a reign as long as hers, there would have been lots of rumours that she was a man if that were the case, but this is the first I’ve heard about it, so I don’t know why my friend believes this 😅

Kate, I think you would like this video about portraits of the Tudors (and others in their circle). The presenter, an art historian, is like the David Attenborough of art. I never heard of this artist, Hans Holbein, who created the most famous portrait of Henry VIII and everyone else of importance in his court, so this was very enlightening. This video is packed with fascinating stories and incredible portraits. It's an hour long and there are several irritating interruptions for ads, but when and if you have the time, I think you will love the history and the images.
