Hello Sourajyoti, Not allowing you to select any action sounds like you are in "open" mode (double clicking your form) and not "edit mode" (right click and select edit). I have used version 3.5.7 and everything in these videos should work with that version.

I added a button. Now, I want its action to be to go to the first record. right click >> control >> general tab >> "action" I can't see "action" following "word break" option and I can't find "action" anywhere on general tab. has anyone else had this issue ?

I am trying to add a button where I can add the date inside a field before I start typing a note. For instance, my note for a day would typically be: 20201021: Customer sent copy of bank wire.

Sir, I find your tutorials very informative and very easy to understand. Thanks for making such a great tutorial. Please let me know how can I make a form with protection to database. Data entry operator should only be allowed to operate with the form and other libreoffice functions should be off. e.g. View > Data Sources should be off. In short user should not be able to delete or change my database fields And if possible can you briefly explain how can I use javascript macros with libreoffice base forms

SUDARSHAN KONDGEKAR To do what you are asking you will need to use a MariaDB or MySQL database. These are shown in video 80-94. The operator will need to have a separate user ID. Macros were not covered in this video tutorial series.

I do have mysql databse and I can add new users through phpmyadmin. But there is way where I can set user permissions and authorisation using libreoffice base but I cannot add user or edit permissions. What might be the problem?

SUDARSHAN KONDGEKAR The problems is, LibreOffice cannot handle MySQL permissions at this time. It's one of the projects that was started, but is not working properly - at least not yet. Hopefully in one of the upcoming releases they will get that issued figured out, but right now, that functionality does not work.

Hi first of all thanks for very good tutorials. I have a question why doesn't the ID of the last record change when you delete a record before it. So if i delete #25 why doesn't #26 become #25?

I know it's an old question, but it deserves an answer. Simple reply: An individual's employee ID doesn't automatically change just because someone else decides to leave the company. Technical reply: It's a relational database system, and in each record one unique, fixed, "key" field serves as an anchor for all of the other fields. In this database the ID field has been designated as that key. He covered selecting or generating a primary key field back in video 2.
