LIBREOFFICE BASE - Insert images and documents as images into your database

In this video I have demonstrated how easy it is to store image data in your database for an employee, student, customer etc... database. Using this method can cause your odb file to become excessively large over time. So stay turned for my part 2 where I will use MySQL to store the image and also another method where the file stays on the computer/storage location and jus link to it.

From what I can see here is that you are cutting screenshots of a linux server down time and pasting it under dates, I would suggest if you are going to be cutting and pasting images rather than type in the down time data then use something like this video, but set a today date as the main tracking element. Then browse and paste in the cut image. It will require manual work from what I see of the file but do able. Good Luck.

The version I am using is Libreoffice 3.6 and the LONGBINARY is in the list, though I have noticed the LO defaults to VARCHAR text which is half way down the list, with the list pops up scroll up until you see image [LONGVARBINARY]. Hope this helps.

great video, but, I was wondering how to add a pdf file as a an only-view object inside your record database. For instance I am busy with a form for my bills and I need to be able to view the pdf file without being an image: should I use a button or something? can you help me out with this? You should know I cannot programme a code if I should need to do this then there should be another way if possible....?

why would you need mail merge. Why not use libreoffice base reports feature, if you want to review and print off ID cards.
