Outstanding description of the Texas Wild West ! Would make a great movie if done accurately and without political correctness ! Only MINOR critique is that it would have been better with the voice of only one reader as when you are hearing the book read and your imagination drifts into those days, you tend to associate the story teller of the book with the voice doing the reading. But when the voice changes ever chapter, sort of messes that up. But I thank all the volunteers who contributed to the reading of the book with their spare time and making it available ! Well worth listening !

What I find most intriguing with the early history of not only Texas but the entire southwest was the triangular existence of Native Americans, Mexicans and the United States. All three hated and waged a savage war on the others, using the aide of another against a 3rd. Each of the three accused the others of inhumane treatment, theft and innocent massacres. Fact is of the 3, only the Native Americans were justifiably in the right. With all respect to the Rangers, for they followed what they felt was right but no more than the Mexicans or Native Americans. In truth the rangers were least morally justified yet because of superior numbers and weaponry won out. The heroes were not just rangers but all those of each side who sacrificed their lives for what was right.
