Really awesome! How dangerous are medieval battles reenactment? Is there any high risk of injury or do the layers(gambeson, mail and eventually plate/coat of plates) prevent totally any side effects?

It is not so dangerous how it looks like but there is some risk of injury. Heavy (metal) armor prevents the most of side effects, but not all. Heavy armor prevents broken bones but if the blow is very strong You can still have a bruise. If You have a light armor (gambeson), blows will hurt. The problem is a mail armor was short in the early medieval and it does not protect knees, elbows, fingers and helmets does not protect a face. So You can be heavy injured ( broken bone, cut in the face, knocked-out a tooth, concussion) but it's rare. During six years i have one heavy injury only: gashed knee (i was stupid and i had not a knee protector), but it wasn't so bad, my knee is ok and i have only a scar on it. I was cutted in my face several times but they were only scratches. So you have to count with some bruises and scars but without them it would be boring :)

Thanks a lot Filip! That's what i tought, hence why i'm thinking about going with mid XIV century reenactment where great helmets and metal plates are used over arms/legs,. Besides it looks awesome the transitional period armour. Keep clashing steel and see you in the battle someday \m/ (that is, if i manage to get a team and enroll in Libusin battle , which apparently has to be done a lot in advance)
