Libya Shipments Foynes and Greenore ports 28th January 2022

On 28th January two shipments of young bulls were loaded onto livestock vessels Sarah M at Shannon Foynes Port and Finola M at Greenore port. These very young bulls are byproducts of the dairy industry. They will spend 10 days crossing choppy seas before reaching Misrata port in Libya. Many will become sick or injured during the journey, with respiratory illness being the main issue, some will die. Libya has no animal welfare regulations and no effective government in place to enforce them anyway. Slaughter methods are known to be brutal. These animals will suffer appallingly.
