Hey, I verified with Connecticut State, they grant a license for a foreign dentist, if you do 5 years of accredit residency (which is crazy); you have to do 3 years of them at CT, and the other 2 years you could do them at any state..... so for me it sounds like they do not like foreign.

Good information! Although I would add that some schools in those states such as Texas, Colorado and Washington requires GRE as well. The university in Oregon does not accept foreign trained dentist for specialty programs. New York requires the standing dental program plus the PGY-1. As for Vermont I took a look based on your information, but I found that they don't have dental school. I know all this because I am forein trained dentist trying to apply to a specialty program, so I had contacted the boards and some colleges. I found you while researching. Thanks for share!

Hello! Thank you for your input:) I’m just diving into the world of GRE myself, it is a problem. Yes, Vermont doesn’t have dental schools, but if you get a degree from any specialty program in the country you can practice there. Mass does have dental school and it’s a driving distance away.

when you say GRE do you mean the pre-undergrad exam or general residencies?

Great video as always! I really appreciate the effort to make such good contents, thank you 💕 Here some questions for you: if you could go back would you do a specialty program instead of going through dental school? Would you like to do a specialty in the future? (if yes which one) what would you advise to do, specialty program or programs for internationally trained dentist?

Hello. I love your videos. I have a question, for Florida it says, that you need two consecutive academic years at a full-time supplemental general dentistry program. What is that even mean ? I thought it was the specialty, but right above that it says, supplemental general dentistry program does not include an advanced education program in a dental specialty.
@KCDoesDentistry3 жыл бұрын
In florida you can pretty much graduate anything, and it will do. Any program that has clinics will qualify you for a license.

@@KCDoesDentistry Hello, thank you for your video ! But please, based on what do you affirm that since in their requirement, they clearly specify that " A supplemental general dentistry program does not include an advanced education program in a dental specialty".

Hi KC , thanks for the great and informative video as always!! I have one question if you don’t mind me asking , for example if I got licensed in a certain state with goin through a specialty program . Can I only work in that state in the future as well? Or If I work in that state for over 5 years I can have the freedom to practice in other state with “Licensure by credential”/“license recognition”. Thanks again!!

Awesome! Thank you for this kind of videos ☺️ I’m wondering if you can make a video about visa/immigration. And how it’s possible to finance all of it, since universities are so expensive in the US.
