I had the same problem. What i did was put electrical tape on the old bulbs and used that to give me a better grip to get the bulbs out. Just so you know, getting adhesive on the bulbs is bad, so if you use this method, your old bulbs are pretty much useless when you put the electrical tape on them for a better grip, but that's how i got the old bulbs out.

Those damn plastic things the bulbs sit in do not want to come out! Tried everything until it broke! Why do these car companies play these games? Just design a simple part that's easy to replace.
