You can build it first item still, it's mainly use with conqueror runes, the extra ap from the rune makes the nashor hit harder due to the ap scaling, but if you want to do burst damage theres better items suited for that such as Liche and Shadowflame That's why you don't build Nashors first item unless you are looking for a Anti-tank build (nashor riftmaker liandrys), it will always be a great choice for long trades but the burst potential sucks

Short: Becasue lich bane got buffed hard and has the better build path. In comparison, nashors got nerfed. Long: Lich bane now gives 10 sec of 50% attack speed and a 100% base ad ration after using an ability, as well as having 100ap, which kat loves. the buildpath now includes hextech alternator instead of fiendish codex, which kat can use better then the abilityhaste. Nashor on the other hand got nerfed to 90ap, its cheaper aswell, but not worth it anymore in comparison to lichbane, which only cost 100 gold more.

idk if its my playstyle or what, but i feel like i deal SO much more with nashors

in order to make lich bane deal more damage than nashors you need to space each proc for each ability, you can pro it every 1.5 seconds t if you do it right you can proc it up to 5 times in a 1v1 and if you rush it each proc does 150 dmg, thats 750 damage, and nashors does 40 on hit and gives 10 less ap. with lich youre not playing for ulti damage your playing for assasination so you should go with electrocute too. once you get used to maximize sheen usage you will feel why lich bane is better
