I recently found out I have this disease - after being in so much pain paired with so much itching - it's horrible to live with. I have very little faith left in most of the medical community overall. Your guest speaker mentioned Vitamin A - Liver is very high in Vitamin A - probably the food that has the highest amount of Vit. A. I have to ask if this nutritionist is a vegan/vegetarian? I am having to do a lot of trial and error. Currently, I have noticed that peanuts and possibly whey protein powder can cause a flare up for me. I am currently doing an elimination diet -and will begin adding one food per month back into my way of eating per week and noting if there are any flare ups. She does not mention the extreme amount of oxalates and toxins found in fruits and vegetables - why not? UPDATE June 2023: I have gone back to a no oxylate, no sugar (even from fruits) no gluten products, no seed oils of any type (they are toxic) and no commercially prepared foods (boxed, canned, frozen, baked, etc) I am feeling much better - food manufacturers are sneaky and try to sneak sugar - hidden under different names into everything - you really have to become a food slueth reading everything on the label. The BEST foods are the ones that contain one ingredient. She mentions Soy - as a woman, I would NEVER use soy products as it is an estrogenic food. In closing, I have to mention that "scientific studies" cannot necessarily be taken at face value. People need to look at the study, scroll to the bottom and find out who are the people/companies etc that have contributed financially to the study (many times it is those with connections to Big Pharma) So read studies with a critical eye.

I've gone GF, dairy free, and corn (because I was sooo sick) before I was diagnosed...I no longer have the itch but I can't get the purple bruisey skin to go away..the white is getting better but the purple skin not so much and it covets half my body and is now on my eye lids 😒

I'm so sorry to hear this. Mine spread to my neck and I haven't gotten it under control. So frustrating.

The Italian study was about supplements - but NOT diet. LS is one of many, many autoimmune conditions that causes INFLAMMATION, which presents differently in different people. There are many, many studies about diet to control INFLAMMATION in autoimmune conditions. There are numerous books recommending diets to reduce INFLAMMATION for people with autoimmune conditions. Yes, stress is a trigger too.

LS is initially caused by inflammation in the body. Just like most other diseases and conditions.

I think the link between food and flare up may be confusing because I have noticed that it’s when I start to Urine out the food or drinks that start a flare. If someone isn’t thinking that way they wouldn’t blame food.

hi! guys.. a request wd be greatful if u can leave concise summary pl.. cant watch for 50 mins.. is there a cure for white skin? can the pigment ever return? my life is ruined.. in my country ppl are not tht open abt such things nor specialised doctors..n yes i feel shy..will be greatful for your advice ..ty soo much..

Thank you for asking. Sending you hugs and strength. For most people, the skin color goes back to normal once the inflammation has been reduced and the cells can get back to work. If the cells have been too damaged you may end up with a few spots but it's nothing to be concerned about.

You can contact me too and I can share my story of recovering and healing from LS. I am not selling anything, just sharing because there is a bias here and within the LS community against the effective treatment path I have pursued. Too bad bc what I've done has helped me sooo much!
@LichenSclerosusPodcast3 жыл бұрын
Hey Mary. There's no bias here. I just report what the research shows. I believe everyone should treat according to their values. All I'm doing is bringing what the science says and as we all know science is ever evolving and changing.
