Gosh, you have just reminded me that I bought several pendulum clock movements in a charity shop last year (or maybe the year before). They must be in a drawer somewhere, I wonder where 🤔🤔

I actually bought this thing months ago after seeing Big Clive's video. I didn't do anything with it until Slider brought up thhe subject and started working on it.. Luckily I found the clock movement in my junk pile and built up this motor with it. It really works well. It will run from about 2.5 volts all the way down to about .6 volts. The self start feature only woks at 1.5v and up but at around 1 volt the amp draw is only around 40 microamps. A depleted AA will runs this just fine------and would for a long long time. Move over Mr. Snowman there is new kid in town.😀🤣🤣

Hi Mr. L-Motor, I've learned more about practical electronics from you than anyone else. Appreciate your channel. I'm wondering if you could give the link for the quartz clock movement from China? Just want to make sure I buy the correct one.
@Lidmotor6 ай бұрын
I don't post links but go to ebay and enter 'pendulum clock movement'. Shop for one under $10. I think that the circuit is the same on all of them.

I don't like to post links but just go to ebay and look for one like I show here. I think that I paid $8 for it.

Looks like a ideal little unit to run pulse motors without having to wind coils. Have you tried a led on it?.
@Lidmotor6 ай бұрын
No I have not tried an LED on it yet. My experience with these very fine wire high ohm coils is that they usually don't have a very good flyback to light an LED. Maybe I will get lucky on this one.

@Lidmotor thankyou for your reply, maybe a mini Maggie if it has enough power that is. Definitely going to have a go with it one day.
