One of the most gifted and thorough singers of the 20th century. In addition to her superb voice Eleanor Steber had a very special talent for communication with her audience. She has a great grasp of the technical aspects of the piece too and I appreciate the cleaness of the attack of each note within the legato line.

I think it is the most moving hymn of the liturgy... is there anything more soul-sterring than a mother watching her son agonizing thru death and then his death. O Clemns, o pia, o dulcis virgo Maria.
