Who holds the extension plug when you move to a different location? I see some operator running the cord over!

There are solutions for that too. If you have a trailer or a wheel loader on site carrying the diesel generator for you while you move to next position it's fine. The diesel consumption for that move is not much. :)

This is amazing! Even if it's hooked up to a diesel generator it will still be way better.

Isn't that dangerous to have the cable on the ground?!
@frestare

Depends if you protect it or not. The cable itself is not dangerous.

Its a pitty that you did not include more parts where we could listen to the actual sounds of the machine without this annoying soundtrack :(

Come on Liebherr? Model collectors now have the new TA 230 in 1:50 scale so give us a R 976-E to go with it???

So, how long does it take to charge it up, a year? How long will it operate for, a full 24hrs? And what environmental damage is done to make the batteries? What is the life exepctancy of the batteries? Can the batteries be recycled? What is the carbon footprint of each of these machines? And what is the cost? All the above questions are to be considered and compared against a regular fossil fuelled machine. Putting aside the "green army brigade" arguments for the machine. The logistics, the charging, the overall ownership costs, environmental costs and relying on the infrastructure just to charge it up make this machine a waste of time and effort. Fossil fuel emmissions have never been cleaner and for me the Greta gang need to accept that the world is not doomed by man burning diesel in diggers and vehicles but more at risk from super volcano extinction events, asteroid extinction events and nuclear war extinction events.

Did you even bother watching the video? It's clearly powered by an electric cable, much like any electric-powered mining excavator or shovel.
@JonDingle
@JonDingle 3 жыл бұрын
@@SoloTwo42 I watched the video right enough but it must have a battery pack of some kind otherwise it is even more useless! Are you seriously informing me it needs a cable permanently attaching to power the machine? Imagine the health and safety officer's delight at seeing a heavy duty powercord going across a work site. Trip risk, electric shock risks and damage from other machines. Lawyers will be drooling at the prospect of low hanging fruit easy court case wins! I would have thought Liebherr would have made a "cordless" version first. Another great reason to buy a diesel powered 976 instead, no stupid electric cord, no need to build the infrastructure or buy a DIESEL POWERED generator to power it and much safer too! A crazy idea by Liebherr pandering to the crazyand grumpy Greta Thundermouth army!

Seems better for the operator due to quieter env - means they can spend more time in the cab while making less mistakes. Probably lower maintenance due to not having the engine in the machine itself. IC engines have so many parts to manage and each one is a liability. Emissions being away from the machine is also useful for confined spaces. If you can manage the cable problem seems like a solid predictable investment. Not suitable for every site no but also I wouldnt dismiss as part of the greta army.
@JonDingle
@JonDingle 3 жыл бұрын
@@TwoToneTuna Machines are fart and away quieter than they ever were and I doubt this is a noisey machine. Noise levels do not lead to mistakes because regs state noise levels have to be around or probably below 75dB, probably lower these days. Human error makes mistakes irrespective of noise. It still greasing and will still need a services and electrical connections checking for arc damage. Emmssions; You would not use this machine in a "confined space", infact that argument is just silly. No way a cable can be managed correctly. On most sites, all hand tools are expected to run on 110 for safety. There is nothing better than a cordless, even if it had a smiking old diesel engine it is still safe than huge power cord. I would anticipate, thieves may consider stealing the cable, much like they steal power cable off sites, wind turbines and railways! It is purely and simply Liebherr pandering the Greta brigade. The world cannot be save, it is doomed by nature nevermind mankind. An extinction event wiped out the dinosaurs. Look into space and observe the planets and our future. The look at the ice core samples for the history of the Earth. Then look at the trees and vegetation that are thriving off CO2. I don't forseen the forecast "catastroophe" due to fossil fuels. But I do see huge social problems if fossil fuels were priced out of the market. The rest of the world, so Asia, the East and parts of Africa need to clean their act up and catch up with us. Pollution running into the river's and sea is far more damaging than low level emmissions from diesel engines. And whilst I and thinking of it, why not get the planes out of the sky, too many of them up until Covid grounded them! Have a great day.
