If we helped ourselves all the time we wouldn't need God. So we think we have it handled but we need God. That is the point IMO.

Very nice point: "God help those who can't help themselves." That I don't feel God's presence doesn't mean he leaves me alone, but it means he believes I'm strong enough to handle the extreme hardship.

Thank you, really need to hold on to this concept right now. Life hurts quite a bit in this season, but Jesus didn't promise a pain-free existence, in fact, He did say we would experience trials and tribulations...may we all hold on to the Truth while we look to Him for our help.

This lesson is so liberating! I don't have to keep trying to earn His love, it's His grace. I don't even deserve it, yet God chooses to treasure me. WOW 😲

Thanks for sharing this message. Years ago, my husband asked me to find “God helps those who help themselves.”…I never found it. I am thankful that He has provided us the tools to study the Bible. It is imperative that we consistently study His word and verify the context.

Naririnig ko sila... Nagsimula ito noong nagpandemic. Nagtiwala ako sa kanila. Sa unang pagkakataon inakala ko na ang taong nakakasama ko at nakkausap ay ang taong hinahangaan ko.Diko inaasahang magdudulot ito ng pananakit sa akin.Maraming pagkakataon na nangyari ito sa akin hanggang sa umabot na sa labis na pagiyak at pagpatak ng luha. Sa musika ako nakakakuha ng kaunting saya. Lagi akong naiiwang mag isa sa bahay. Lumalayo narin ang loob ko sa pamilya ko.Naging malungkot at madilim ang aking mundo. Umabot ang aking kalungkutan sa tangkang pagpapakamatay. Ninais kong magbigti ngunit diko nagawa,uminom ako ng napakaraming soft drinks para magpakamatay. Nang mga panahon nayon ay nakatira pa kami sa masukal na lugar o gubatan(malayo sa kabihasnan). Nang sinabi ko ang lahat ng mga bagay na nangyayari sa akin ay nagpasya ang aking mga magulang na ipagamot ako sa doctor. Iniisip nila na baka nababaliw na ako. Lumipat kami ng bahay sa aking mga Lola. Oo,dipa rin nawawala ang mga boses sa paligid ko na diko naman makita kita ang nagsasalita. Di nagtagal ay nagwala ako dahil sa labis na pag iisip at depression. Naging magulo ang aking paligid... Ang aking pagwawala ay umabot sa tangkang pagsaksak ng kutsilyo sa aking sarili. Umabot rin ito sa panggigigil sa aking sarili. Sinasaktan ko ang sarili ko dahil sa labis na takot. Uminom rin ako ng napakaraming gamot upang magpakamatay at mga bagay na hindi dapat inomin.Dinala ako sa kung saan saang albularyo para gamutin. Ngunit walang nangyare... Ginagalaw parin ako ng di masabing nilalang o kung sino. Hanggang ngayon,ganun parin ang nangyayari sakin,may gumagalaw,nananakit at humuhusga sakin. I understand where you’re coming from but that’s not necessarily what the saying means. An example of the saying is, let’s say You Yourself don’t want to wake up and go to work. You can do a prayer and say I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. BUT you still have to do the action and you yourself have to GET OUT OF BED , & God will help you in that moment and help you power through your day. Another example could be in savings. I can watch all the videos and pray all I want to start saving money , however until I myself start putting aside money and developing healthy habits, it won’t get done. The praise goes to God bc I was able to even start doing those healthy habits in the first place. That’s how we Hispanic kinda use the phrase. It’s more so like do the action and not just the talk

You do all the work and god gets all the credit is what this quote means. Not to sound like George Carlin or anything. But God is a egomaniac narcissistic entity that is obsessed with self praise that is less evolve than my old roommate who got kicked out for not paying their rent. He wants all the credit you do all the work when bad stuff happens he is testing you when stuff happens is because of him, it’s the best gig ever. God hates those who help themselve and don’t give credit to God

So when God who is all walked in the garden was he unaware they took of knowledge? Was his intention not in giving them his salvation. Yesuah is God, Yesuah walks with us. Only God Redeems us. Love the lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul. Treat your neibors as you would yourself. In this you fulfill all commandments and prophets.

I see the people who lie about that quote being in the bible and those who were lied to and believed the lie about the quote being in the bible is outraged to find out that this quote is not in the bible! They are so angry and can't let it go! LOL 😆😂

All the lazy people are cheering to this message. If we are talking about getting ahead in life: better marriage, better health, better spiritual relationship and better material wealth. Then, the slogan applies; look at these verses... Proverbs 10:4, 10:26, 12:24

The message does not encourage us to be lazy. It encourages us to rely on God, his guidance and wisdom. He is the God of the helpless. Read 2 Corinthians 12:9. Proverbs 3:5-6. Titus 3:5-7, Psalm 116:6-8, 1 Timothy 1:7. John 3:16. I can give so many scriptures but I'm gonna end there. God's love, grace and mercy is what keeps us going. We should rely on Him at all times. He doesn't help you only when you help yourself. We need him. And one thing for sure, we can't buy his love and help. Yes we must obey His commands and run after righteousness, but we can't buy Him because His grace is sufficient for us and He loves us. God loves you. Stay blessed.

It’s not a lie. Don’t be so ignorant. It merely another way of saying, Faith without works is dead. Try to think things through further. Don’t take things literally. The letter kills but the spirit has life. You’re wrong on this. And when you pray and ask Jesus for help, oh you’re gonna get help, just probably not in the way you were hoping for. When you ask for knowledge or wisdom in prayer, you don’t just receive it. No, the Lord will send to you circumstances which you just accept and go with toward that knowledge and wisdom. It is WORK either way. The Lord, indeed, helps those who help themselves. If you try to rebut by claiming there are people who aren’t capable of helping themselves then you’re admitting that you thus far have not been a good and proper steward to your brothers and sisters in need. You know what I mean. Don’t use and hide behind scripture.
