Good discussion. I agree with you. Once I understood that money is involved, I took mainstream with a grain of salt. I improved my health by understanding the role of money in the advice I was getting from doctors and pharmacies. Thank you.

Nayiri makes a good point that the food industry is simply a business that is trying to make money. I apply the same thinking to the medical community when they offer treatment. It is a product that I may or may not want to buy. I am taken aback when they become insistent that I must have their product. Many times, especially in hospitals, they administer treatments and bill patients without even getting the consent of the patient. I have even had them send me certified letters in an attempt to scare me back to the clinic. Think about it, If you have a retail business, would you shove things in your customer's bag and insist that they pay for it? I wouldn't treat my customers that way. 😡

I liked her point about reminding myself that it’s a business! It will come in handy when thinking of the medical industry as well. To your point, I went to the Emergency Department last September because my bloodwork showed that I had low hemoglobin, basically was anemic. Anyway, the doctors were pushing a PPI called Protonix on me, even though I had no history or symptoms of “heartburn” or stomach issues. I never filled the Rx. But, it wasn’t until I read the Notes from that day in the portal, that I discovered they gave me Protonix by IV!! I had no idea what they were giving me via IV because they didn’t inform me. 🤨😡

Thank you for sharing your story. It's sad to think how many medications or procedures are pushed at us because they generate money. I hope are well now. Nayiri

@@LowCarbandFasting Oh yes, thank you, I am doing great. Hgb, iron, and ferritin levels are very good now. I had just completed 14 weeks of cardiac rehab after needing a stent. I was following the directives of a “cardiac diet” which lowered my iron level during the 3x/week workouts for 14 weeks. I avoided red meat and didn’t eat eggs, it was the Perfect Storm to get anemia: Follow the cardiac diet while depleting iron reserves in cardiac rehab. Perfect! I just laughed about it now while typing. The diet they push is iron deficient.

I wish you had also addressed chronic pain and discussed the relationship between refined carbs grains, sugar and seed oils in processed foods, and inflammation which exacerbates pain and fatigue in conditions such as fibromyalgia arthritis and degenerative disc disease.

I’m diabetic and my husband is too, but he gets low sugar drops and I don’t. He says fasting doesn’t sound like something he should do. Any suggestions?
@LowCarbandFasting Жыл бұрын
Hi Donna. We can not give medical advice here, and I don't know if you or your husband are type 1 or type 2 diabetics. However, in either case, fasting is a great tool to normalize insulin levels and lower blood glucose to a normal level. If a person is taking diabetes medications, these MUST be adjusted by a physician. It is absolutely important to speak to your physician and ask them to support you. Do it safely because low blood sugars (hypoglycemia) can be dangerous. Nayiri www.lowcarbandfasting.com

Here, the Bible is vindicated again. The purpose of the fasting and dietary guidelines is spiritual, mental, and physical health. The guidelines include fasting, self-control, and food choice.
