Lieven Scheire - Nerd Olympics: Pole Vault

Do Nerds watch sports? Of course they do! Every discipline is stuffed with science and technology, and interesting facts you had never noticed. So, yes, nerds have more fun, even when watching the olympic games.
To get you started I have made a couple of videos to explain the science, technology and general nerdiness at work in archery, fencing, the pole vault, the decathlon and the marathon.

Love these short vids. Would be nice if you added some more detail (if possible) how the elastic energy becomes stored in the pole, and transforms to vertical energy. (Just a thought/suggestion 😉)

Omdat er nerds op tinternet zitten die momenteel van alle trivia over de olympische spelen opzoeken maar geen nederlands begrijpen maar wel alles in tengels verstaan en dan is dit wel heel handig. *42 nerds vinden dit leuk*
