There is more to scholarly textual criticism than meets the eye. For most of us, the realm of historical-critical textual analysis of the New Testament is a complicated milieu of technical terminology. Especially difficult is trying to unpack what non-Christian liberal scholars have said about them. Much of the unbelief of these scholars has filtered down into the popular imagination and have been a foundation for many who have renounced their faith in Christ. So is there anything of value Christians can still learn from these scholars or should we simply ignore what they might have to say? This week, we continue our conversation with the world's leading resurrection expert Dr. Gary Habermas, who has plumbed the depths of liberal-critical scholarship and has mined a great many historical gems from their writing that can be of edifying use for believers in defense of Jesus's resurrection. We talk more about his latest work, On the Resurrection: Vol 1: Evidences
Dr. Gary Habermas has dedicated his professional life to the examination of the relevant historical, philosophical, and theological issues surrounding the death and resurrection of Jesus. His extensive list of publications, including 50 books, and debates provides a thorough account of the current state of the issue. He has also contributed more than 60 chapters or articles to additional books, and over 100 articles and reviews in journals and other publications. In recent years, he has been a visiting or adjunct professor at about 15 different graduate schools and seminaries in the United States and abroad.
