To those who are condeming the church, do you know how hard it is to swallow your own words? Imagine a whole Pastor who perhaps blessed this union swallowing his words and now has to go back and do the same thing all over again. Many churches do not know how to handle it because it's like blessing a separation altogether. The best we can do is pray over our partners before we even meet them, take time to learn them we find them (like Jesse mentioned) before we do the whole church thing.

I watched for 4 minutes and stopped where he says a divorcee in Church is treated like a leper 😢😢 this breaks my heart. Jesus accomplished for us what we flawed humans couldn't, the punishment of our sins was on Him, someone who failed to keep the marriage vows is also forgiven, no guilt nor condemnation for one who is in Christ, we're justified by His blood. Some of the ministers who impacted my faith are divorcees! The culture of shaming and ostracizing divorced folks in Church should stop banange. I'm blessed by this couple's testimony and may God continue using them for His glory 🙏🙏🙏

Church leaders need to be kind and understanding at times. How could you isolate someone when they need you the most, especially after serving in the church for 18 years? Is that really how the church should repay them? Divorce can happen to anyone, so we should show love to those going through it, especially if they have tried to save their marriage. Divorce shouldn’t be a reason to ask someone to step down. Many people in the church are struggling with all kinds of sins, including infidelity, but because their sins are hidden, they continue to serve. Pushing away someone who is divorced might just make their mental health worse. Jesse and Pesh, may your story be an inspiration and open doors to ministry globally. Let it show those whose marriages have failed that God always offers second chances. God bless you.

I agree with the theme. When I went through my separation in 2017, the cell stopped calling either of us. The marrieds fellowship all delisted me. We had a revolving fund, which we had just started and when I asked for this to be given to one of the couples that had just got children, I was told I had to forfeit my contribution. Only individual friends from then reach out to this date. Indeed, when you separate or divorce, you are "excommunicated". Meanwhile, the bars are welcoming you. P.S. I never went to the bars, but Oh my God.

@mary_puffinАй бұрын
Churches should be able to re-marry people in the case of death, infidelity, or abandonment. This is the practice in churches that want to honour the Bible but also honour the innocent party in a divorce. Jesse was careful not to say that he was the innocent one - he said that it takes two people for a marriage to fail. That is very mature and I agree. When I say the "innocent party" I mean the one who didn't choose to walk away from their spouse.

It is sad that he was 'shunned' from his former church, but in defense of that church, they have biblical principals that they run by and they have been there from the very beginning. A person in the position of Leadership in that church CANNOT be found in some weird position because they believe in the transparency and true biblical leadership. Hope it makes sense. This was a good interview; however, it mainly revolved around Jesse. While it provided interesting insights, it would have been much more engaging to also explore Patience's perspective. It would have been fascinating to hear how she feels about Jesse having kids and how she has adjusted to her role in their lives. Additionally, understanding how she manages the dynamic of divided attention, knowing the kids will always be Jesse's first priority, would have added depth to the conversation. Hearing her thoughts on navigating situations where Jesse has to interact with his ex-wife due to the kids would have been enlightening as well. Moreover, it would have been great to know if the children have gradually warmed up to her and how those relationships have evolved over time. Such insights would have offered a more well-rounded view of their family dynamics and Patience's journey within it.

The problem is not GOd. He created something beautiful and the devil came so hard to try to destroy it. the responsibility is on us as humans to either choose to follow God's way for marriage or the deception the devil has laid for us. Marriage breaks when one or both parties decide to divert from God's principles and intentioned purpose for marriage. But also marriage covenants are broken because one or two walked into it without first knowing and understanding the true purpose of marriage as designed by God.

Many churches today are governed by long-standing traditions, much like the Pharisees were. When real-life issues arise, like divorce, it makes you question: Is this how Jesus would respond? Would He cast someone aside or ostracize them? At times, it feels like a facade-an outward display of inclusion, as long as you don’t step outside the established norms. But if you fall short, for any reason, you're often "blacklisted." This isn’t how the church is meant to be. The church should be a sanctuary-a place where those who are hurting or have stumbled can find refuge, healing, and acceptance, no matter their shortcomings
