'Life After Life: A consideration of consciousness in the context of death', with Dr. Peter Fenwick
The current scientific evidence suggests that death is an expansion of consciousness and not a contraction. Evidence for this comes from what the dying themselves say, and our progress in the search into the nature of consciousness.
This field is now moving fast and scientists are thinking about a post-materialistic universe which allows for the presence of spirit and the continuation of consciousness after death.
Speaker Dr. Peter Fenwick is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and a neuropsychiatrist with an international reputation. He is an Emeritus Consultant Neuropsychiatrist at Kings College, at the Maudsley Hospital, the foremost psychiatric teaching hospital in the UK, at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, and at Broadmoor Hospital for violent offenders.
Dr Fenwick has a longstanding interest in the mind/brain interface and in the question of consciousness. He is Britain’s leading authority on near-death experience, and a former President of the British branch of IANDS (the International Association for Near Death Studies). He has published over 250 research papers on the subjects of epilepsy, consciousness, sleep, the law and the phenomena around the time of death, and has contributed to numerous radio, television and KZbin programmes on these topics.

feel bad for my parents bc they think death is the end of end all. Me being the black sheep no one takes me seriously. And thought of spending everything , enjoying the fruits of my labor and someone wrote a book on die with zero.

It's interesting that we are now speaking about the living beings beings being eternal. The really interesting thing is that this knowledge has been expressed in Vedic philosophy since time immorial. Srila Prabhupada in the 1960s brought this knowledge to the west to educate 'scientists' and leaders of society about the nature of the soul. Without such understanding we find ourselves in so much suffering as we have engage in ignorant activities which consequently lead to suffering. This talk is on the right lines but is missing the most crucial elements such as the science of self Realisation and science of God Realisation. It touches on the matter of love and the relationship between the soul and other living entities. However, bhaktivedanta philosophy which is hardly heard of explores these matters in great detail, focusing on the matter of love and how that relates to the souls natural constitutional position. After death, life continues , but what is the point of creating an animalistic consciousness which only leads to suffering in the next life? Bhakti is the art and science of loving God and other living beings and how to live respectfully in this life with the natural world. Read The Science of Self Realisation, Life comes from Life and Journey of Self Discovery by Srila Prabhupada and Bhagavad gita. ISCKON is the only scientific institution in the world that teaches the science of the soul and how it passes from this life into the next. Read and listen to lectures by Srila Prabhupada and you will see how this cosmic creation and consciousness actually works. Hare Krishna!

But no mention of the drugs utilised in the dying phase, morphine is definitely a contender. We surely can't side-step the almost, certain response this will have on our conscious state during the dying process. I observed my wife's gradual decline & death from cancer, under the influence of strong sedatives & pain management medicines....she definitely saw beings & had visions, but how can one truly differentiate?🤔
