I'm a research mathematician and found this pretty funny, and I'd bet that many, if not most other mathematicians would find this funny. Also, this is probably much more flattering than what people like Perelman and Grothendieck actually do all day.

Your attitude is why maths research is so broken, and only minute derivative work comes out as droves of papers published to avoid perishing. Most research mathematicians are squatting on seats which should go to neurodiverse people; social leeches who spend their days playing blackface with neurodiversity and pretending their trivial little walks around tiny areas of mathematical thought are the same kind of thing as the genuine research from the likes of Perelman, Poincare, Galois, Newton, Hamilton, et. al. et. al. The treatment Perelman got and gets indicts modern mathematics as a dysfunctional parody of the mathematical world that actually earned credibility.

If Perelman is a genius, then the fact he doesn't fit well in society means that society is the nutcase. This society is broken because it has no mechanism of introspection; everyone who doesn't flow with it is considered defective. The western world had such a financial and technological advantage its empire should have outlasted the Romans. But it is crashing and burning already, because it was founded on accepting and encouraging narcissism.
