wow, this mom didn't like this boy and the day he turned 18 she pressed charges against him? I wonder if she understands how she ruined this boys life becaus her daughter was hard headed? His life is over and I bet she still doesn't listen to her mother.

Why does shit like this never get fixed? Why don't they fix the law? Why did the prosecutor pursue this? Absolutely ridiculous! And they wonder why people have less and less respect for the law these days.

That sucks for him getting that rap and all, but at least he is smart with the pursuance of the scrap metal biz, for it is only going to continue to reap him higher rewards over the long run.

Exodus 22:16 And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife. If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.

I almost feel scared driving down the street, because if I hit a mailbox, then I'm a felon! It's crazy! But not as crazy as being labeled a sex offender for life and serving 4 years in jail (nearly 1/5 of your life once he got out at age 22) for having consensual sex with your girlfriend, that's just ridiculous.

I believe all good people believe that criminals who go to prison should have to pay an equal price for their crimes. The question is what should they do with their sentences, leave prison worst off or ready to be Productive Citizens.

This is an example of what is wrong with the justice system. And as for the comments about him driving a truck, how do y'all know who's truck it is? The house is his grandparents so the truck probably is too. At least this guy is trying to do something to make money besides something illegal or just drinking his life away or laying around on drugs or selling them.

@TreachMarkets There's a new "Romeo and Juliet" law in Texas to eliminate these types of things from happening to teenagers. It is supposed to take effect in September 2011. People who are in the same type of situation as him can get their names removed from the registry. If he's elsewhere and has any luck, he could come to Texas and start his life over.

Hey he got a bad deal but it could have been worse. He lives in what looks to be a well kept neighborhood with his grandmother. Im sure there is food in the refrigerator when he gets home also. Glad he's staying positive but his story is a cupcake compared to others especially in big cities.

When I started watching the video I was thinking "The guy doesn't look like a criminal. Well, maybe he robbed somebody, because robbers can look like anything." Then I found out he wasn't actually a criminal. Apparently unliked relationships are allowed to be illegal. F U AMERICAN LEGAL SYSTEM!

@hitokage4 neither do i , i mean stuff you do before your 18 shouldn't affect you the rest of your life, it should affect you till your 18, once your 18 you should have a fresh start, then after that if you screw up, you should be punished for life

This isn't a crime, if it was consensual the statutory rape charge shouldn't have stuck.....at least, that's how I think the law's written. Maybe it's different from state to state? Least ways, he looks like a pretty chill dude who's great to hang with. Man, sometimes the American "legal" system really doesn't make sense to me =p

He's near where I lived until I was 3 around Norcross or Lilburn. I know a total of 3 men in the same situation and I don't think any of them are bad guys. It was consentual but the limitations for statutory charges are too black and white.

@VirtualBros Yes, that's the point of the verse. The sex offender laws are 180° out of what is right. If you read the other verses you will see that the father is responsible, the daughter is responsible, and the man that lay with the daughter. But according to Torah, the punishment given the daughter is much harsher if she is found wrong. We are seeing the results of allowing women power. It's going to get worse, not better.
