How often do you use what you learned in your college courses like statics, dynamics, strength of materials, etc. in the field? Also, how important is GPA to engineer employers....what's considered adequate?

Peyton Lee these are good questions! I'm actually uploading a video now that talk about several of those points. It should be up by tomorrow afternoon. In short though, the reality is that depending on what role you have, there will be a limited number of equations used which will be known by all in the industry and easily accessible. Design and analysis roles will use more equations, but they are generally only used to confirm 2D or 3D analytical tools. GPA was not accentuated or even ever discussed in any of my interviews, what is more important is that you advertise your interesting projects or internship experiences. The people interviewing you are regular people, not professors, they are interested in things they can actually have a back and forth discussion with you on. The general concepts of all your course work may become useful when using your "engineering common sense" to evaluate problems, but specific equations are not used as often. Remember this is an analog world, a lot of the text book problems are oversimplified and not as useful in industry. Hope this helps. Stay tuned for more videos

Hi Vladimir, I reached out to connect with you on LinkedIn because I have a question I’d rather not share via KZbin comment section. Is there a better way to contact you? My name is Donald.
