Worked hard, paid a pittance, overtaxed and had no health plan. Boy, good thing society has evolved past that...

plus you aren't legally bound to work for Amazon and you are still entitled to the right to own property...

The Black Death contributed to the downfall of serfdom because having tenants was more attractive for landowners, and they needed money as badly as the serfs did.

Serfs had rights that varied from kingdom to kingdom, where did you get that information
@spatrk6634 Жыл бұрын
because different regions and kingdoms had feudal contracts and legal codes that varied... just like today.

I medieval germany, if a serf flees his master and hides in a city for a year without getting caught...he would gain the right to freedom by law...that is why there is the german proverb: "Stadtluft macht frei / city air frees".
@debbiecurtis40215 ай бұрын
This was true in many European cities at this time. Cities actually helped hide the people.

Cow manures were used to plaster the walls of the wooden house.
@notbobrosss36702 жыл бұрын
Waddle and Daub construction. They made a wall that was woven like a upright flat basket. Then they mixed mud (used as filler), straw (insulation) and animal and sometimes human excrement (acts like a hardener). Then plaster the waddle (wicker like wall) with daub to insulate and keep the wind out as well as to be somewhat fire resist. So when u hear waddle and daub building, that’s what there talking about.

@@p.temzzss I know the saying goes waste not want not. But I'm still glad I don't have to smear poo all over the wall to keep the wind out lol. Or ewwww or lol ewwww.

This video is incredibly generalise to such an extent as to make it worthless, I covering as it does a population of up to 40 million living in an area covering over 3 million square miles, divided up into over 40 separate and distinct countries

Don’t hear descendants of serfs asking for reperations for some reason
@andrewyerian2142 жыл бұрын
Because it's in the past. Black and Hispanic people who cry for reparations over something from long ago can learn a thing or two from the descendants of the serfs.
@andrewyerian2142 жыл бұрын
One should never let the past get in the way of the present, because that affects the future. Those who cry about the past are the ones who choose to live in the past, instead of the present, making them steal their own future. Feel free to share this with others.
@HelicopterHatHacker2 жыл бұрын
Serfs were given reparations. When the Bolsheviks took over they took everything and redistributed it.
