For the German viewers who can’t understand why it is soooo expensive to go to good 4 year college in the USA.... it’s not just the education but also about the lifestyle and amenities that an American university has to provide to attract top students.
@AV-we6wo3 жыл бұрын
From my (german) perspective there seems to be a flaw in this logic - if you compete with the amenities you offer as a college or university, you'll have to spend more and more on these and over time you'll have to raise tuition even further to cover these costs. Ithink that's one of the big problems when you're doing education as a business. You can still compete for the best students just with the of quality of education you offer in a system where college or university is (almost) free.
@certifiedlover27483 жыл бұрын

It's so cool that you have at least a litte bit of entertainment such as the gym classes and a little bit of college life. It's super interesting how your university deals with the situation. I feel like the weekly tests make so much sense. Seeing the dining halls and dorm, I got a little bit sentimental because I studied abroad at Central Michigan and it reminded me so much of it. I loved living on campus as it really gives you a feeling of community (as long as you get along with your room mate of course). Thank you for taking us with you!

Nice video and one piece of advice from an older German businessman. I feel you when you claimed that accounting is boring and I have no clue what your university is asking for but in real (business life) it is perfect if you know how and why figures are placed in which account so that you are able to understand and interpret accounting reports. In my 40 years in business I never ever needed more than that, but be aware because if you are really deep inside the answers to the why questions you will face a lot of opposition from folks who are able to read accounting reports but could not answer the why questions (and some of this folks did even make it to academic rangs).

The theory of romantic literature by Schlegel seems to be a little complicated to introduce people to this topic. One of the romantic authors - E. T. A. Hoffmann - gave a short but understandable overview to the romantic theory in his book "Der Goldene Topf". It is about 2 pages somewhere in the middle of the book. So it might be interesting as an entry and an overall basic understanding of romantic literature. Btw. Friedrich Schlegel's brother August Wilhelm was also a writer but is best known for his translations of 17 Shakespeare pieces to German.

9:02 If you identify as female (which I guess you do), that should read Alumna, not Alumni. Alumni is the male plural, so it refers to more than one man. (One man would be an Alumnus.) Also, it should read "heiße", not "heisse", unless you specifically want to use Swiss German orthography.

9:42 I had no idea these Japanese facilities had been brought to Germany, I would have thought hygiene regulations were against that sort of thing. Anyway, "Vermischung" is a not so good word in that context (makes me think of cat on bread somehow ;-)), better use a word like "das Miteinander" or "das Zusammenspiel" or just describe it without a noun. Oh, and "Café" is spelled with a C in German, unless you deliberately want to use a K as a "Katzen" alliteration.

@abalada3 жыл бұрын
