Sir you have shown gameto cyte formation from immature trophozoites kindly refer life cycle from which stage of lifecycle gameto cytes are foremed reply please,if from trophozoit gametocytes are formed whats the use of further cycle.kindly repky or make me understand.

Thank you very much for your question. So the gametocytes are essential for the continuation of the parasite's lifecycle. As they are taken up by mosquitoes during a blood meal, they undergo the sexual reproduction to form sporozoites, initiating the sporogonic phase. So, the further cycle is crucial for the transmission of the parasite from human hosts to mosquitoes and back again, completing the lifecycle. That's why the trophozoites have two fates (either to continue the asexual erythrocytic stage to continue destroying the host's red blood cells or to form gametocytes which will be taken up by the mosquitoes to maintain the cycle). You might come across it in some books that gametocytes are formed from merozites during the erythrocytic stage, yes, but in reality they develop from the trophozoites which comes from the merozites. @drjamsaheb9830 No, schizonts rather raptures to release merozoites for the to infect other circulating red blood cells. Immature (ring stage) trophozoits have two fates. 1. It can mature and divide asexually into schizonts which will burst to release merozoites and continue the erythrocytic stage 2. It can also divide into sexual erythrocytic stage (gametocytes).
