Renewables will help, but the majority of energy will still have to come from fossil fuels. Watch the Meirsheimer video explaining why. It's the way that the energy companies are allowed operate since nationalization was ended that is the cause of the high energy bills, proof of that is the MASSIVE profits being made by them, not any shortage. They were raising prices well before the Ukraine invasion etc. They used that as an excuse to extort people. The governments are allowing them to do it, most have huge shares in their energy providers so are part of the profiteeering - then they take tax payer money to give bill allowance as well as taking windfall tax. Most people have no idea about how the system works, it's shocking when you do understand it.
