I did a study abroad in Tokyo about 10 years ago, lived an hour outside of Tokyo for 2 years, and I try to visit once every year or two and you talking about the changes is so true! The neighborhood I lived in during my study abroad is so different now, but when you go to the more rural parts, nothing has changed. I had a slight culture shock during my visit last year when I got on the trains and learned they had changed things to a number system. Lots of changes due to the Olympics coming.

I love Japan and I love the manner you present it to the world. I lived there for a year in 1992. You two have a new subscriber! I have a new daily routine now that I finished all episodes of Midnight Diner and Samurai Gourmet. I’m suddenly missing Japan. I travel the world and my mantra is not to visit a country twice. On the months before my (so far) first trip to Japan, your main channel, this live one and Paolo's were where I got most of the ideas of things to visit, see and do in Japan. For Tokyo in particular, I downloaded all the hand drawn maps of the different neighborhoods from Paolo's site, even though I already had like a hundred places bookmarked in Google maps, including that Godzilla statue from the beginning of the video... and the Liberty Bell 😅
