Mama Dee, when I built my house in rural areas, I brought in a professional plumber who had done plumbing for me when I built the other house in Joburg. I was lucky the guy was willing to come to my homestead for 7 days and do all the plumbing including the septic tank plumbing connection. I only use local plumbers for fixing things there and there if anything brakes or I want to change something. Please get the same person who did the original job or get a reliable plumbing company to come in before you have everything connected. It will save you a lot of frustrations. It might be costly but worth it. If a plumber comes from far, try to house them in your compound and provide meals to them until they are done and you are satisfied.

Hi Velile, I've tried . EC has a shortage of reliable plumbers and abundance of village plumbers and scammers. I've tried but wow a lot of them aren't cheap but also not exposed. Another thing one reputable one did not even know what was already done but charged me. Also many use middle men.

At EC, most "contractors"are chancers and don't know the job/skill

I love the bouquet! Just by itself, the grass was so beautiful! I love the container that it’s in. Gives it a real farmhouse look! I love to see you interact with your sister. It’s good to see you really enjoying each others company.

Mama Dee Your house is too beautiful to be messed with Please try finding reputable companies to finish the work. I know it’s a headache working with our own. They tend to take one look at u and assume you have money to throw away. I meet the same challenges but now I’m wiser I go for established companies they cost more but u have peace of mind and can trace and chance if any problems. I know you already know all this 😂😂😂. Living abroad and coming back home to build is not easy because you are now out of touch with the negotiation tactics and spotting scam All the best as you complete the cosmetic in your home. Can’t wait to see the finished product .🏠🏠🏠🏠🏠🥰

I’m in Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 working as a nurse, each time I ask skilled professionals to assist me with services such as plumbing, welding or any other service, they charge me exorbitant prices just because I work oversea. It’s very sad.

Those once are totally not reliable, they will want you to transport them, change you as if materials are theirs. Drop him and Google for professional plumbers, sesi and you are still going to provide food for him

There are plenty reliable trades people around SA, just about making sure they are registered. Also I’ll not recommend hiring a local village plumber as normally village plumbers aren’t really well versed in plumbing, as sewage and water systems and infrastructure still a new thing in villages(mostly in last 20 odd years)and in some rural villages still scant …many ppl in villages aren’t building fully plumbed homes still , most new village home builds just have a well or harvest water from rain through gutters and at most have 1 or2 homestead outside running taps. Village homes only really connecting to full plumbing in the house recently, hence the skill hasn’t been in demand in rural villages (not talking rural towns because those do mostly have full waste and water infrastructure. My advice is get a registered plumber from the closest rural town you have or from closest city to your village… for your safety and to save money in long run. Bring them in from city if need be and they are usually willing to negotiate, but also can’t pay them pittance as they are in demand. We built emakhaya here in KZN and one thing we couldn’t are registered plumbers who’s work he verifiable references so we brought in a qualified plumber from Durban…our village is 2 hours drive away from Durban and he did similar to your guy, stayed on in our homestead during the period of laying of pipes underground, connecting septic tank, borehole, pump,, doing piping into house and connecting sanitary ware inside and did everything and we have no issues. Negotiate hard but respectfully
