It's a pulloff. Let's say that you have your index finger on the 5th fret and your ring infront of it on the 7th. You would play the note on the 7th fret, bend it down, and take your finger off ("pulling" it off) playing the note on the 5th fret.

When playing this riff on an acoustic I will play the open A instead of sliding on the E from 7th fret to 5th fret. Much better tone that way, obviously, but you'll need to mute it immediately.
