Life in Tulsa, Oklahoma | Glimpses from the last 10 months

I moved to Tulsa, OK about 10 months ago to teach 7th grade English. I've always seen myself as a traveler, so living in the middle of the country and thinking about staying here long-term has been a real struggle for me. I don't always want to leave places. I want roots and wings, as they say.
Also, a dog barked at me at the end and it scared the bejeebies out of me.

I heard that there's a lot of crime and racism in Tulsa Oklahoma...... can anyone tell that what are the original circumstances of Tulsa Oklahoma?

The Monster Vegas, if you have ever been to Tulsa Oklahoma, you might know not much goes on. Lately there has been a lot of crime, gas prices are rising I wouldn’t call the town racist, but just judge mental, I think it really depends on what part of Tulsa your in. I know that just this morning on the news there was a murder, actually two murders in the same place at the same time, it was sad but that goes on in downtown Tulsa. If you go to the “nice” part of Tulsa Oklahoma there is almost little to no crime. I hope this clears a little up for you? Also the nearby towns are small and nice.

There are pockets of crime in Tulsa just like every other major city. Mainly North Tulsa. As far as racism goes there's really no open racism anywhere. I'm really not sure where those stereotypes come from. Perhaps the race riot the happened one HUNDRED years ago that people are apparently just now learning about in 2018. Overall Tulsa really is a nice city with a strong revitalization happening

As a colored person living here, I can assure you it is very racist and backward here. One of the most segregated places you can imagine. Great if you are white,. Christian and not very imaginative. Awful if you are not.
