I asked chatgpt how many tanker truck can be filled with the oil from the supertanker A typical tanker truck used for fuel transport can carry around 30,000 to 35,000 liters of fuel. In contrast, a supertanker ship can carry millions of liters of oil, typically ranging from 300,000 to 2 million liters per tanker, depending on its size and capacity. Assuming an average supertanker capacity of 1.5 million liters and a tanker truck capacity of 32,500 liters, you could fill approximately 46 tanker trucks with the oil from a single supertanker shipment. Keep in mind that these are rough estimates, and actual capacities can vary based on specific tanker models and ship sizes..

Do you mean the Tanker ships? Very boring life. I did several years on board those vessels. They dock far away from cities so little chance to unwind. Container ships are much better. I experienced pre-internet times when we relied on letters for news from our families. We usually received them in two or sometimes 3 months. Imagine learning about a death or a birth in the family after 3 months. Then the internet came. Not much difference. Sometimes even worse as you'll learn of mishaps in the family instantly and you can't do anything about it as you can't go home right away since you're in the middle of the sea. Aside from that, you really can't roam around freely in every nook and cranny of the ship. Too many hazards and off-limit spaces.

It would be interesting to work on a tanker, my only hesitancy would be the rough, stormy sea conditions that they can run into. I wonder how good the pay is, depending on the occupational specialty involved. I woold presome the cooks eat quite well, hopefully the crews do to. A real perk is the availability of a gym, and probably a good running track along the ship deck perimeter, although there may be restrictions on that. I wonder if any of these might also carry a few passengers, it would make for an interesting excursion. Wonder how much leeway the crew have in visiting ports of call, given where oil tankers go, i.e., the Middle East, crew members might have to observe some precautions on shore leaves. But they probably can sample some unique cuisines in cafes and restaurants.

l sailed on a number of what were known as 'super tankers' ..(VLCC)... in the late sixties onward into the seventies.. They were in the 200,000 tons size which was pretty large during that time. The speed ranged from about 12-15 knots, on occasions more. Actually they were relatively easy to steer once one got used to anticipating wind/wave and current effects. By the standards of the time there were well appointed for the crew having a single cabin with bunk, daybed and writing bureau and en-suit shower/toilet facilities. facilities like the crews mess, ping-pong table and a swimming pool... some very happy memories of my youth so long ago now...
