Same here! I saw it August 2006 with my grandma in the movie theater and it became one of my favorites. I was also ten years old, going into fifth grade and it was just a movie that felt perfect for me at the time. It was quiet and calm enough for my autistic sensory sensitivity with colors that didn’t overwhelm me and and characters that I still love. Lightning McQueen was actually the first character I hated before I ended up liking him. At ten I never felt a desire to smack the main character more than Lightning as I took Disney and Pixar characters at face value as being heroes and automatically rooting for them because I was a kid. Lightning McQueen was my first time really experiencing character development and pacing even when I didn’t know what either of them were. I remember watching behind the scenes video of Cars on the Disney website and Owen Wilson being my first celebrity crush. Cars means a lot to me is what I’m trying to say.

This cover is so over-produced it's insane, and I love it for that. It's a banger. Nearly every instrument in the mix has way more sub-bass than it needs to have. Even the damned Synth has what sounds like a gated-reverb on it. If there was ever a song that needed to be produced within an inch of recognizability, it is this song due to the ostentatiousness of it. It's perfect. Absolutely perfect.
