Just a note, when you are doing the my.ini file part, if you use Notepad++, it tells you the location of the file on the top of the window so you have less of a chance to confuse the two files when editing.

Another note, if you run into a "the application was unable to start correctly 0xc00007b" error on your running of the server shortcut file at around 40:00 of the video, make sure you ran Life is Feudal Your Own main app once to ensure all the directX and C++ distributions are installed on the machine. I was starting with a fresh Win 11 as a server.

Works perfectly. You sir should do more videos. The only issue (this was my fault) I had was I had my steamcmd on my desktop for other servers lol. For some reason MariaDB doesn't like being in a system directory. I got a mysql privilege error. **So for future people. If you have your steamcmd on your desktop, Do Not Use that one for this LiFYO server. Make a separate Steamcmd in your root directory like c:\ or d:\ or whatever drive you have. Do not place it in a system directory.**

Followed your steps to a tee but when I open the shortcut made for the servers .exe it opens and immediately closes (EDIT: I was wrong, this video is great... I fully recommend)

Im sorry it hasnt worked for you, the majority of the time if your server starts and either instantly stops or shows error logs, something in the coding is wrong ! double check your Lif my ini file located in the steam cmd folder inside life is fuedal, docs, and make sure you havent confused this with the my ini located inside of mariadb, data, if all looks good, double check the coding in the target lines for the server.exe, it should look like this, "C:\steamcmd\life is feudal\ddctd_cm_yo_server.exe" -world 1 keep in mind the start of this line C:\ is where you would have installed your cmd folder location, if you have installed yours on a different drive, change accordingly, if at the end your still having problems, shoot me another comment over and we will try to figure something out ! :)

@@PoppaJay94 have the same problem and i did everything step by step as you do. Edit nwm i found what stupid mistake i made i didnt copy config file from life is feudal docs to main folder XD sorry i doing it at 2AM

As I am aware but not fully certain, personal claims should be working, although it seems to be a confusing feature. From research some people state that they needed either 1 copper coin or 1 billet, and then upon right clicking an empty tile it should show the "claim land" button. Some people have stated that before they could do this they had to set up a guild/clan before this feature would work. If all else fails it may be worth using claim commands to set this right. I believe the command is /claimrule personal char FirstName 11111 Im sorry I cannot be of further use, the game is no longer in developement and thus information on the game is severely limited and hard to find, if needed you can find a list of commands by searching online. I hope this information helps !

head into your file explorer, follow the path line C: > steamcmd > life is feudal > docs, inside open the config_local.csfile, take note of the server ip, it should look something like this "127.0.0.1", if it differs that is okay just make note of it, now upon logging into your server it asks for your IP followed by your port, so if your port is 28000 it should be entered as followed, 127.0.0.1:28000, make sure to also note that your port may also be different, to check this head into the path C: > steamcmd > life is feudal > config, inside open world_1 and check the port in the list, which also brings the problem of port forwarding, you may need to head into your router settings, which can be done by pasting your own IP address into your web browser and entering the credentials, you may need help from your network provider to do this. you will then need to open port 28001 and port 28002 if port forwarding is the problem. so yeah just enter the IP and port as shown and then the password you chose and you should get straight in, also your friends join in the exact same manner as you would, I hope this helps, if not drop me another message and ill try my best to look into it !!

@@horaciojunior9946 yeah I believe this is a port forwarding issue although I cant be 100% positive, both you and your friend will manually need to take whatever the port number is from earlier and open +1 and +2 after it in your routers port settings, for example, if your port is 28000, you need to open both 28001 and 28002, as does your friend/s

add these to your port fowarding settings once you have access through your router and have your friends do the same TCP: 28000-28002 UDP: 28000-28002 TCP and UDP are the port types

Can I make a server mod for Knool Tribes, no sorry, I do not make mods for this game, however there is a mod for this called lifx knool pack already available I believe, it does require you to install a framework file and also connect your server to their app but this is something I personally have never tried and do not see myself trying as I no longer play LiF:YO, if you do want to check it out link to their site provided below but always be cautious and check this stuff out before blindly downloading things, maybe check out lifx youtube videos or gather some information on it before you make any decisions to download any files, because quick disclaimer, if you choose to download files from websites you are not familiar with or cannot guarantee to be safe and break something, you and only you are responsible !!
