Max seems to have a type; she is still fixated on bad girls like Safi, it was random and strange that she could kiss to others in game, that almost are like side characters with no plot to them at all thought out the game. I also noticed that she feels more like a college student than a teacher and looks more like one if it was not for those forehead Rinkles on max, she seems like kid maybe college level smart but not grow up like a teacher personality was not there, it feels like they just hired her because of the photo skills maybe since it didn't feel like she could grade or write papers on her own, I mean they even gave her a dark room for her photo's I think if anything she was just a photo teacher but nothing more than that skill wise, I didn't feel like double exposure did their plot great in that aspect of it. but around the college campus what I found neither interesting nor funny was the tablet with the audio recording jokes. In the game, they included poor-quality poop jokes around the area where you get the hot cocoa. I did not buy any of the addons for this game. It is just left with no one around it, which feels odd. It is strange that Amanda would have left her tablet in that area without any explanation. The game does not provide any context for presence. It as if they are saying, "Here, Max, listen to audio recordings of us talking about poop in bathrooms and clogging the sinks with poop then she goes on in audio to talk about that a few different recordings were left in the game around that area." They made really bad poop jokes and included them in the disc version. I assume it is also in the digital version, but I received the double exposure disc version of the game for Christmas. It not something you would want your parents to hear while you are playing "Life is Strange" in your bedroom with your soundbar 5.1 device. I think the jokes are for a few people that find that stuff funny, I sorry but I did not find it funny, to even listen too when it started to get very weird or strange I just moved max away from the playback device in game. it might have been connected to when max talks to Amanda in bar, about having to use bathroom if it was a number 1 or 5 level bathroom need, maybe but still strange that she would of just left it there, I don't remember if audio recording was in alive world or dead world in game. I don't even know if I used my Bluetooth ear pods, if I wanted to listen to the full recordings, sometimes in games audio recordings are fine, but I didn't feel the need or want to listen. are poop jokes by girls considered woke or not, in any case, it was just bad. I don't mind the different bathroom signs, but really why did they include those bad poop jokes in the game, I only could listen to it until it got very bad, with their words, I would rather play a new game with whatever Choe is doing, also they could have provided a better picture of her or rendering of her, if you're playing, she lived plot in this game. I think Safi is the new Choe, yes, max replaced one bad girl for another one. talk about bad habits. it bugs me that they felt the need to give max forehead Rinkles in her skin, why did they do that? yes, the some of the games choices felt pointless. aren't girls like put skin stuff on their faces for stuff like that, I mean really why did they give her such dry skin problems in double exposure? I think she got tired of Chloe caring about her skin, not that that ever happened but really that was a strange rendering of her forehead, I noticed it while playing on my series x console version of this game. maybe the addons and choices like to her outfit fixed that since I don't own them, I don't know but its noticeable in the basic outfits the game gives you for free. it's like max's self-care might be improved with the outfit costumes she gets but I do not know for sure.

As a straight guy, I found it really strange to play the "smash or pass" part of the game (I declined all of them). It just wasn’t my thing, and while some people might enjoy it, it’s not for me. Life is Strange 1 and 2 also included LGBTQ+ representation, but they did it subtly, without forcing it on the audience. They seemed mindful of players who might have different perspectives. The story in this game felt plain. The idea of small choices leading to significant consequences didn’t feel impactful I didn’t notice any real effects from the decisions I made. I’d give this game a 3/10 the music though is fantastic

If this vid blows up I already know my comment here is gonna get attacked but I find it so funny how fans are like “ewwww Max would never like someone like Vinh” because sure…Max has definitely only gone for the most upstanding, morally un-questionable people like…Chloe, a girl who was fine with stealing from the handicapped lmao. Honestly? As forced as I think the romance aspect of this game is in general, Amanda is the worst offender considering the fact that her being a love interest feels like she exists purely for that aspect - like she’s filling a hole in the LiS blueprint. She’s completely disconnected from the plot, and we barely know anything about her outside of the fact that she owns a bar, has five siblings, and goes to therapy lmao. Compare that to Cassidy and Finn, two characters who existed entirely within the context of the episode’s narrative, with little optional scenes for either romance option, with lines of dialogue changed, and a mention in one of the endings When you compare it to LiS 2, it’s pretty bleak. This is one of the reasons why I found Vinh far more compelling as he actually connects to the plot and has a surprising amount of complexity under the surface. In fact I would say he’s the only character in the game who’s genuinely pretty well written…for the most part (the cow skull situation is still a big ???).

Generally, I agree. It seems like they were so busy trying to reintroduce Max that they forgot they also need a well-written story that makes sense, as well as including memorable and interesting support characters. It feels like “Double Exposure” is trying really hard to be mysterious but just ends up confusing. It’s also a big problem that the story involves so many different things that have little to no connection to each other. A Life is Strange game about a murder mystery, traveling between timelines, shapeshifting, several people with powers etc. could work. But not having all of it in the same game. Another big problem is that “Double Exposure” fails to deliver the same emotional impact that the first game did. I don’t feel like I have any emotional connection to any character and therefore I don’t really care about anybody. I don’t know anything about Safi, so when she is getting shot I am not sure why I should even care. However, I didn’t know Chloe either when she was getting shot by Nathan in the beginning. But the difference is that we get to know Chloe throughout the game. So when the last choice is presented, that does have a lot of emotional impact. I never get an emotional connection like that with Safi.

Going into double exposure having been an avid LIS1 fan broke my heart at the wasted potential and the complete dissociation between max's original personality and her new one, it's like they're two different people completely. They dulled her personality and made her traumas and experiences all subtle and dull almost into nonexistence, they got rid of all the traumas and experiences that make max max. I saw absolutely zero effect of max's experiences as a teenager in the first game on her adult version, you'd think they'll integrate the trauma into her character development but instead they completely ignored all of it but only maintained chloe's death as max's sole motivator in the new game (her need to save safi). the first game did a great job of putting the player in the characters' shoes and it was focused on making us feel their torments and conflicts, it was captivating, deep and layered with perfect character chemistry and emotional connection. imo they tried to replace chloe with safi thinking that by giving us barely five minutes of screentime with her would come close to the emotional connection we had with chloe. They flopped so bad..Not to mention how horribly one-dimintional the entire story was, unlike the first game which just had one fucked up story after the other that all built up into one intriguing world that kept you playing.

5:35 To be fair, it was stated in LiS1 that Max getting her powers is what allowed her to be more brave and reckless than ever before ("You´ve been more... fearless this week than maybe your whole life"). The ability to be in control of your social interactions, being able to undo anything you might say and do as well as making people like you is the dream of any socially awkward person. And Max as a character is still stuck in the past, which is what her interest in photography/her time powers symbolize, and as a story LiS is about being able to let go and start moving on. This is all acknowledged in the nightmare sequence that calls out how Max has used her powers throuhout the game, and the game's narrative doesn't make as much sense if Max isn't somewhat abusing her powers. But eventually, the more she used her powers, the worse things got, so she stopped using her time powers entirely and moves on either with or without Chloe in her life.

To be fair, Life Is Strange: True Colors was never really about a central romantic relationship. The focus was more on uncovering the town's dark secrets. True Colors follows a similar structure to Life Is Strange 1 and Double Exposure: The town harbors a dark secret. We uncover that secret. We expose it and face a choice. In Life Is Strange 1, the choice is whether to sacrifice Arcadia Bay or Chloe. In True Colors, the decision revolves around leaving the town with Steph to explore the world, knowing we can always return later. Double Exposure follows a similar pattern: a secondary character dies, Max’s powers awaken, and they embark on a journey to discover why the character died and what the town is hiding. Now, I’m not sure what the final choice in Double Exposure Episode 5 will be, but if it mirrors Life Is Strange 1, it could present the same problem. In the first game, after all the drama surrounding Rachel and Maya, we ended up with a decision that felt meaningless. If Double Exposure offers a choice like sacrificing Saifya or Caledon (assuming that’s the choice), it could render everything we've done pointless. However, there is a redeeming aspect: Life Is Strange 1 showed that Chloe could be redeemed. She forms a healthier relationship with her stepdad and explores cities with Max before their eventual breakup. But with a Chloe and Saifya sacrifice option, it feels like all the time manipulation and effort just to have them die anyway is a waste. It undermines the choices we made and makes the journey feel pointless. In True Colors, we also face a similar dilemma: we spend the entire game uncovering the town’s dark secrets, but the ultimate choice-whether to leave with Steph or stay-feels a bit anticlimactic. The emotional payoff isn’t as strong because it’s not about saving anyone or altering the town’s fate, but rather about personal choice and what comes next. The technical issues in Double Exposure-like the T-pose glitch during transitions, characters speaking with their mouths closed in Chapter 4 (which is unintentionally funny), and a camera glitch-also hold it back from being a flawless experience. Overall, I think Double Exposure is a solid game, but it would greatly benefit from clearer dialogue options and more meaningful choices to strengthen its narrative.

I finished the game recently. I played the first game, before the storm and true colors too, I missed the second game. When I played it, did not look into the reviews to make unbiased conclusion. Yes, the game has a little bit more woke stuff than it should. But does it really matter? Complaining for a life is strange game being woke is like complaining than a doom game is too aggressive or complaining that a souls game is too hard. First game openly supports marihuanna, embraces gay relationships and euthanasia, I also felt like wants to convince you against gun ownership. This mentality is part of the series. Btw in both games, you can refuse to be homosexual and in new game you can accuse a trans character being a drug dealer, you can pull away a girl when tries to kiss you. Saying that this game is 4/10 is nonsense. Max acts how she should. In the first game she was a teenager and experienced what are the consequences of her actions. Now she is an adult collage teacher. In the game there are many plots that I honestly did not expect. Characters are likeable. For me the true colors felt much worse with a way more cringe moments.

I miss the air and the way the first one has more feeling to it along with the way you can explore a bit more! The bar is great but... I would rather see more of the area like Arcadia Bay had. The school and the various other places just feel a bit bare and overall it feels lackluster when compared to the story of LiS! I agree with several points on the focus of life is strange games and i was also dissappointed by Chloe's handling. That said, i completely dissagree that double exposure is a bad game, true colours was amazing to me as well. Theres hella lot of beauty to be found in both the latest lis games and i think you really have to be biased toward not seeing them or have tunnel vision to disregard the substance there. The character development of Max was beautifully handled imo, definitely in how she handles her trauma. Obviously they are not as great as the original game, but they definitely hold their own and personally i'm glad to have experienced them. Here's my review on Double exposure: It does capture the nostalgia of the original game but goes on to become its own thing that consistently and beautifuly hat tips the original. I feel there was a bit less variety in scenery to the first game. I was very dissapointed on a certain part regarding romance (trying to keep it spoiler free) but it made up for it with a storyline that had impactful reveals and a relatively steady progression, in my second playthrugh it felt like the choices did not have much impact in the main story in the end which was a bit sad. Character development regarding our favourite snoopy nerd is very well made and there is obvious care and love for the character. That said, I think we all deserve more context into the time in between the frames as the character development for our other favourite badass character is barely hinted (tho to be fair thats not the focus and it would basically become an entirely new game otherwise). I personally really need a game to bridge the time in between if i'm gonna get my closure on this. Or at least a sequel to adress that. You know that feeling when you're waiting every moment for the phone to ring and that to be a certain person? I got that in spades in this game which is a feat set up by the first game and facilitated by this one and thats something i've never had before in any media. The reality of that feeling resonated with me in a way that I didn't think possible through anything other than real life as I geniounly feel i need closure and I'm fairly certain that is what Max feels as well, or at least that's how I chose to play her as. I was really dissappointed i could not respond to most messages, especially the one near the end. There should be the option to initiate texts more, kinda like in wavelengths. It may be the wrong choice to do so but it just feels way more wrong to not do so. The frustration I felt watching Max being torn in a certain scene about calling someone is no joke, it was very dissappointing and frustrating not to see the big choice prompt come up!

Life is Strange is quasi-woke. It doesn't have all of the same characteristics of a fully woke game or film, since it still has some semblance of a coherent story. However, it's clear the wokeness has steadily been increased with later games, until this game, where it's much more readily apparent. Dragon Age: Veilgaurd would be a heavily woke game, where the wokeness supplants the story or gameplay.

I think the jokes are for a few people that find that stuff funny, I sorry but I did not find it funny, to even listen too when it started to get very weird or strange I just moved max away from the playback device in game. it might have been connected to when max talks to Amanda in bar, about having to use bathroom if it was a number 1 or 5 level bathroom need, maybe but still strange that she would of just left it there, I don't remember if audio recording was in alive world or dead world in game. I don't even know if I used my Bluetooth ear pods, if I wanted to listen to the full recordings, sometimes in games audio recordings are fine, but I didn't feel the need or want to listen. are poop jokes by girls considered woke or not, in any case, it was just bad. I don't mind the different bathroom signs, but really why did they include those bad poop jokes in the game, I only could listen to it until it got very bad, with their words, I would rather play a new game with whatever Choe is doing, also they could have provided a better picture of her or rendering of her, if you're playing, she lived plot in this game. I think Safi is the new Choe, yes, max replaced one bad girl for another one. talk about bad habits. the fact that max could date and kiss both the guy and girl and both of them from different worlds would get mad at her over it, but really, doesn't max have morels about doing stuff like that but the game lets you go there anyway, is that a woke thing? it bugs me that they felt the need to give max forehead Rinkles in her skin, why did they do that? yes, the some of the games choices felt pointless. aren't girls like put skin stuff on their faces for stuff like that, I mean really why did they give her such dry skin problems in double exposure? I think she got tired of Chloe caring about her skin, not that that ever happened but really that was a strange rendering of her forehead, I noticed it while playing on my series x console version of this game. maybe the addons and choices like to her outfit fixed that since I don't own them, I don't know but its noticeable in the basic outfits the game gives you for free. it's like max's self-care might be improved with the outfit costumes she gets but I do not know for sure. sure, this game has its problems, I guess parts of it were too woke, or bad jokes included about pooping in audio recordings in game, that must have gotten away from the developers, as it seems like the company should not have included that, since its low quality jokes.
