I remember a time when we not only went to confession, mass a few times a week, AND "days of obligation", but we'd have dinner with the fathers (plural) in our local parish, pray the rosary with the sisters of the local convent, and visit houses of our neighbors to pray and have bible study meetings. Some of these things still exist, but not in a large number of parishes. I pray that the Gen-Y/Z will get to experience Catholicism as the wonderful Bishop Fulton Sheen so eloquently describes. 🙏✝

Yes, I and my brother went to a parochial school; we went to mass everyday except Saturday, and that was the day that we would occasionally go to confession, maybe once a month. The Benedictine nuns taught us, but thinned their ranks markedly as we approached high school age, then they were lay teachers. A lot of the clergy left to get married. 🙏🕆🕊💒

I consider myself fortunate to follow Bishop Sheen because he is a worthy follower of Christ Jesus… he helps me to be relaxed and that technology helps me to know him through my iPhone…it’s a weird world but with Christ life is really worth living.
