Embark on an enriching journey with a narrative that threads through the life of Raghu Raman, an individual with an extraordinary career trajectory. Spanning over two decades, Raghu Raman's odyssey commences with a remarkable 11-year service as an officer in the Indian Armed Forces. The discipline, leadership, and resilience instilled during this period paved the way for a subsequent 11-year tenure in the high-stakes corporate world. Stepping into roles that demanded agility and strategic thinking, he carved a niche for himself before venturing into a pivotal government position as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Intelligence Grid.
Captain Raghu's experiences at the formidable Siachen Glacier and his stewardship of technology start-ups have infused him with insights that resonate across various sectors, including corporate giants and strategic government initiatives. In an engaging discourse reminiscent of the influential Josh Talks, he elucidates the myriad lessons he acquired in the army and their profound impact on his professional journey and approach to myriad life challenges. This talk is a must-watch for those intrigued by the seamless blend of military precision and corporate acumen, offering a trove of valuable takeaways for leadership, crisis management, and personal development. Join us as we delve into the story of a man whose life is a testament to the values and skills honed by the Indian Armed Forces and their enduring relevance in every sphere of life.

I served in the Australian army for 9 years and after watching this video I've got great respect for this man. It doesn't matter which country you're from, all Army men have great life lessons to pass on to other people. If his stories don't motivate people, I don't know what will. Well done that man.

5 lessons 1) Don't sweat the small stuffs. 2) Sometimes failure brings out the real strength within you. 3) As you leave for the work, be ready for combats. 4) It's better you commit mistakes now and learn from them. Don't wait for the judgement day 5) Leaders job is to produce leaders better than them. Always give respect to those who have always supported you..

And if someone is unable to link the 3rd lesson with our normal non-combat situational life(unlike army) then i would like to explain that this quote particularly means, dont wait for that golden hour to study, dont wait for that coming monday to start diet....its about the "kal se karunga" attitude....you can never know what is the situation ahead that you may have to face.......i didnt know how to drive car, i thought so what im living in delhi, not in village, i can book cab or call ambulance in case of emergency or heck my neighbours and relatives will help me but i forgot at the time of crisis the first help available close to you is the best one possible to change all the circumstances, one day my father got a paralysis attack and we had to call our relative to take him in his car as ambulance was unable to get there, so i learnt the lesson that day but understood today from this video

Excellent and encouraging! Those in the U.S. armed forces hold the Indian Army in high esteem. So it's not only other Indians benefiting from videos like this, foreigners are also watching. (BTW, the tea & biscuits story at the beginning is awesome. ROFL!)

4:01 This is a principle axiom of the US Army as well. In basic training, if one member of your platoon fucks up, you all pay for it. You learn through punishment and pain that while in the infantry, you are not an individual, but a part of a team. Without the team, you're not effective. You win together, you lose together. Glad to see the Indian Army has this methodology ingrained into their military as well.

Something similar with that Tank misfire happened to me during disarming of INSAS, unfortunately the rifle which was given to me was jammed and I failed to disarm…and I was best on that during my training days… latterly our CO and Ustad called me and gave me another rifle and it’s happened again. My Ustad became furious on me and he himself tried to disarm the 2nd rifle and failed… they gave me 3rd rifle (this time it was a service rifle, not just training rifle) I disarmed it in lesser time then the person who won that episode… So life sometimes go wrong not just because we are not caliber of but to teach us never give up.

This teaches us one more lesson. We have lost 154 pilots ( well trained by air force ) due to MiG 21 planes designed in 1963 ( valve based electronics age ) and upgraded last in 1981 ( Age before Microprocessor like 8085 was launched ). Our political opposition should die with shame, when they can not procure state of art stuff. a Knife can rust, if not used . Defence equipments used seldom will fail as a probability.
