i wanted to be a PA in derm, surgery, or plastics with my own aesthetics business. Seeing that i can be a PA and work in this field this is my dream career. I thought about becoming a licensed esthetician but dont know if that considered PCE or HCE

Hmm that’s a great question! I would call some school you’re interested in and see if they’ll accept that as your hours. Also, if you do find out, let me know please ☺️💕

Great tip about getting licensed as an electroligist first! That's exactly what I did and I opened a laser hair removal clinic and school. After 10 years I decided to go back to school to become a PA. I was offered a derm position before even starting PA school based on my laser experience and being known in the field, having written articles for Dermatological magazines and through Electrolysis, Esthetician, and Derm speaking engagements. I also own and operate a school where I teach Dr's and other allied health care professionals how to use lasers. I'm now transitioning my laser school to an online platform. I have so many Dr's and clinics backlogged waiting to send their employees to my online laser classes, of which, my hair removal course should be up and running by October '19. No pressure.... 😓😅. I also have tattoo removal, pigmented skin lesions, and vascular lesion classes following with some other side courses such laser safety officer training, etc. I never imagined when I started this whole journey that I'd ever end up here. I'm so excited for the future and I'm very interested in learning more about your injectables class! If anyone is interested in learning more about lasers you can reach me at theresa.blue@yale.edu.

I want to be an aesthetic PA but I used to do phlebotomy and would get so scared poking people with needles, the training was terrible and the environment was very fast paced with multiple people at a time so maybe that contributed to it... but I also hate needles when I get poked. How do I overcome this?? I really love doing all the different facial treatments but I know no one will hire if I don't feel comfortable with doing fillers and botox.

So I’m not sure if I’ll want to do aesthetics but I believe I want to do a derm rotation (it can help in almost any field since people will ask you about rashes/moles) and I may do derm but later after I have worked for years. After working say 15-20 years or so would be getting into derm for the first time you would be able to make a good amount right? Just based on general experience. Also does that hurt? It looks very painful but i know they are numbed.
@itsKendraLynne5 жыл бұрын
I would say no to the getting in easily and paid more if you work longer in another field then transition. Dermatology is a whole other world and takes years to really master. That’s why derm is the hardest residency to get into. Starting as soon as possible is best, but that’s where the determining if the lower payment is worth it. I really do think there should be a residency for derm.
