For those that are looking at this and actually plan to work at a Walmart, the biggest thing that’s going to irritate you is other associates overstocking those sections. This, depending on the item, causes customers to select and purchase the wrong item.
@Seeker887 Жыл бұрын
Customers select by sight, not labels. Yes other associates “plugging “ or “stuffing “ is very aggravating. Then you have to fix it in order to put the correct item where it belongs. That’s not considered in your times. We are told throwing boxes in bailer , and binning of over stock is included in our 1 package every 60 seconds time. As long as you come close they won’t try to shame an coach you out of a job.

This is the best training video I've seen when it comes to stocking. This guy should be a trainer. Please show us videos on how to use that scanning device you have. And also how to work at the backdoor stockroom when returning boxes and searching for items.
@Seeker887 Жыл бұрын
A15 - 6 will help to stage packages. Then you may have to scan it to find the precise spot faster. According to Walmart estimates you should have 8 packages on the shelf in the time it takes to watch this video. Some managers will hold you to those estimates, the smarter ones reliz they are off. If they are trying to shame you , count your packages as you throw them. 💪🍀

That’s one of the downfalls about working at Walmart. The expectation is too much. That’s why their turn around rate of employment is so high and can’t keep workers
@Seeker887 Жыл бұрын
One package per minute. If they say one pallet per hour and there’s 70 packages, or more they will try shaming you into thinking it’s your fault. Don’t let them. Back when we had ladder carts I was told they should only take 1/2 hour. I counted the packages as I staged them. There were 68 packages each , coincidentally. After that we went round and round over my production. It wasn’t my pace it was their estimate that was off. If that computer is so smart why are our top stock shelves and bins over flowing?

If you just started remember it takes time to learn the aisles efficiently and upcs and stuff like that. The longer you work and learn an area the faster you will be. Team leads and managers don’t take into account this fact or they do and rush you to get you used to how it’s going to be. I’ve been working 6 months now and gotten way faster and they still complain because they get bitched at too by the store manager. It is what it is but everyone goes through this. Just take pictures of plugs and anything extra that takes time from you working your frieght that way if they pull you to give feedback or coach you may have a chance with some proof to open door it.

Unfortunately, many departments have some items with different kinds of labels, that don’t have aisle location numbers. So, it’s not a magic formula that will help you stock EVERYTHING in the store…
@scottstewart6260 Жыл бұрын
Aaaand.. ya hope the distribution center has the correct modular layout for your store LOL. And for items with expiration dates, you are supposed to zone the oldest dated items to the front of the shelf and stock the new items in the back.

Hows it been?
@David-fc1uf9 ай бұрын
I worked building modular systems, meaning the physical aisles and shelving/peg placement. If the facing is off then employees begin to "plug", meaning they start shoving everything behind other products and then there is no room for the product to the side and it creates a vicious cycle because the employees are being timed and fixing time consuming plugging issues is not accounted for in the overall daily task time. Consequently, the stocker is now placed in a precarious position of having to spend their time "fixing other people's problems/laziness", losing time and not getting any credit for it. And it's not necessarily any desire to receive credit, but if anything, being ridiculed for taking "a long time" to finish their assigned task within an alotted time based on who knows what, a pallet size. That is also why stockers don't verify as much because they open a can of worms and it only leads to physically readjusting shelf locations. The modulars are created specifically for a reason all the way down to each peg positioning. Once the facing is off on a section, it spreads like cancer because not many employees feel they have the time to fix it because they may need to readjust an entire shelf, section and possibly an aisle if really bad. And always "justify" left. Wherever the first item on the shelf is positioned left to right, that is exactly where the shelf label needs to be, to the very left of the first item in the shelf. That is where the facing count begins, and it also identifies where an item ends and a new item begins. And thats important because many items look the same, particularly in aisle A8-9, the pasta aisle with many different sauces but similar looking labels. Also, a work phone with a scanner helps out tremendously because many of the boxes do not have a label identifying the aisle and location number. We each have an assigned phone for our store in Southern California. Again, if a store diverts from the modular architect sheet, there goes your efficiency and the overall production begins to fail because the floor count, backroom count etc is all off and you waste physical time bringing inventory to the floor that doesnt fit on the shelf because of the plugging issue. It's a cancer that store managers don't take serious. If they stocked for an hour in grocery they would get it.
