It seems that you likes to fooled by lies and propagandas. The actual Xinjiang is strictly secretive, brutal, inhumane and suffering,... CGTN is a propagandas channel of CCP which spreads misinformation. What western media reported is a tip of the iceberg. The actual Xinjiang is much worse. Uyghurs and the local people have been brutally being eliminated - a genocide in Chinese style - secretive, slow and the most brutal killing of Uyghurs!

Heartwarming. As a U.S. citizen living in south- central China's Jiangxi province in the capital city of Nanchang, I get to observe first hand not just the compatibility of people from multiple ethnic backgrounds, but also their pride that comes with their embracing the diversity of multiple heritages. This is yet another instance in which the world, especially the U.S., has a great deal to learn from the people of China.

Mandarin is the language you need to learn in China to correspond with other Chinese from different regions, to do business and unite all Chinese but you are free to speak your dialect with your family members, relatives, friends, neighbours and so on. There is no harm to learn another dialect or language. In fact, it will be an advantage for you. I know few languages and few dialects but I wished I worked harder during younger days to master more dialects as I envy my other friends who can speak more dialects than me.

Mandarin is an ugly barbarian language with no history. China has many unique and beautiful dialects but the CCP has successfully brainwashed most Han people to view their ancestral dialects with disdain, and now under the Han chauvinist Xi Jinping they're trying to forcibly assimilate ethnic minirities and kill their languages, too.

Westerners are ignorant that Xinjiang has many ethnic groups, not just Uyghurs. Similarly, Tibetans are not a homogenous group. There are different ethnic groups amongst them. Without the unifying commonality of belonging to the same nation, these groups may eventually turn against each other as we have seen in many countries. Within China, they have managed to live in peace for centuries. Long may it stay like this. Forever.

@@ystan9571 Yeah, if you notice, only the older men have beards and the young men are clean-shaven. Didn't you notice? That's not by choice. Beards and mustaches were very popular among young people before 2016 but not anymore. Even before 2015, my male students were required to shave their mustaches in order to get driver's liscences from racist driving instructors. Now the consequences are even worse. I even talked to an ethnic Mongol guy from Inner Mongolia who was told to shave by authorities in Xinjiang just while travelling there.
