they are very apologetic , ... the director must of been a tough cookie. And maybe thats why i loved every episode of this because it was awesome .

minislayer2010 Hello from California. You're right, this series is brilliant in every way. But I think the end is perfect because we care about these guys so much that we don't want to let go. Btw: the US made a version so bad it missed all the soul and went with explosions and car chases. Totally sucked. I don't think it lasted a season. I had heard of the U.K. version and it later played on PBS. I wish they'd replay the whole thing.

Susie Guglielmino there's an app for android called Showbox. I've got it on my tab 4, and I've got all the Life on Mars episodes :)

It was a brilliant programme and I really enjoyed it. However, there were a few things that spoiled it. There were far too many short haircuts. Some costume errors too; the newspaper editor who gets shot in episode 6 is wearing a shirt and tie more suited to the 80's - people didn't wear silk ties in the 70's. The show also portrays police in the 70's to be ignorant, cold-hearted cavemen. This was not the case, there were corrupt ones weeded out in the 70's but they were no way as bad as portrayed here. One final moan again from episode 6; when Tyler asks where the armed response unit was and Gene says "you're looking at it", I think the researchers should have watched the Sweeney episode Thou Shalt No Kill (made in 1975), as soon as Regan and Carter arrive, they are informed by the local police that 2 police snipers are on the way. Rant over - great show!!!

Well he wasn't actually back in the 70's, this was Sam imagining what it was like, so since he was a small child in that timeframe he doesn't have an accurate recollection of the attire and the attitudes.

I mean, I won't spoil if for you but watch Ashes to Ashes. There's a justification for why everything isn't 100% accurate to the 70s.

Another discrepancy is that there is a photo fit of the Yorkshire Ripper in the C. I. D department but its 1973. The first photo fit of the ripper wasn't published until 1975.

@@leahwilliams418 If these minor discrepancies are correct, they are to insignificant to even be worth mentioning. Not every show has sufficient funding to analyse each hyper-specific areas for discrepant information. Rather the corporation behind the videotography hire individuals with prerequisite information about the scene however they are extremely consistent but not absent of any inaccuracy.
