Only for some companies, in developed countries. I've done silicon annealing and I only have a high school education - MANY people at my shop either had a high school education or were a college drop out. In 2nd and 3rd world countries, lol no, it's almost entirely a matter of competence not qualifications but again that's still subject to the company.

It was my understanding from previous videos that the rollers have a sensor for anything coductive (i.e.human skin) coming into contact activates a shut off of the machine. So you might crush you finger tips but not roll your entire hand. I also have a feeling from a quality control standpoint that the silicone would be ruined if a whole hand was involved.

In my 30 working experience there were only 1 accident that a hand come between the zylinders. the hand was half a meter long. Investigation shows too much alcohol involved.Normally theres a wire above the head u draw this the machine stops immedially and turn backwards a bit

I worked in a similar job, if this guy looks dead is because he'll eventually be. The quartz in the silicone give symptoms similar to TB. While a thin layer is lightweight it soon starts to weight a lot and your back is doomed. My coworker in ten years received surgery 3 times for this awful job. Poor guy...

Tech Unboxing it’s called a _two roll mill_. Depending on how it’s set up it can mix, shear, or crush. This one is for mixing. The smooth surface rollers rotate at the same speed. They have cold water flowing through them to cool the material being mixed.

the operator cuts the silicone to release it from the roller so he can change its orientation which accelerates blending

Michael Berthelsen this material is nontoxic. The kneading process does not outgas or generate airborne matter. Silicone is the only material handled in this venue; respiratory safety equipment is not needed.
