I really love when Hank goes off script. Maybe the other hosts do it too, I've noticed some of them infusing* their own personality into the script, but Hank is always so theatrically funny 😆

I had the privilege of snorkeling with manatees. They are gentle, friendly creatures, but I can confirm first hand that they fart, a LOT

The Manatee is a really interesting animal. Large marine herbivores are very rare. Manatees have a lot of gas in them which they off-set with extremely dense bones. Manetees have some of the densest bones of any mammal.

And of course a beetle is adapted to feed on em. It's a 5 second rule, where a new beetle species will emerge to feed on the food you dropped if you don't pick it in time.

@@ProfessorSyndicateFranklai depends on your definition of metal astronomers call everything but Hydrogen and Helium "metals" for some reason so they are astrophysical metals(as we cringe at the poorly chosen definitions of the past) Also fun little note is that any atom can become a metal if you can force it to have more free electrons than its thermodynamic energy balance supports. Quantum degeneracy of electrons is what causes the properties we call metals which is why white dwarfs despite being composed of carbon oxygen and neon exhibit metallic properties

@@tammymccaslin4787: Ah. That might be an allergic reaction, in which case you should have that tested by an allergist, or it could be that you've been eating too much preprocessed foods, in which case you should eat more fruits and vegetables.

Any toxic substance that is introduced to it's victim via flesh impalement is venom. It's only poison when it's consumed orally.

When I was a teen, I went to camp. O e of the other campers could do the burp trick, but with his butt. Dude could fart on command, and even store up enough air to straight up hovercraft slide across the floor. Everyone has a skill...his was the fartercraft.

Can confirm that sonoran coral snakes will fart at you. I live in southern AZ and had the pleasure of finding one in my back yard. I put on gardening gloves and picked it up, and then it emitted sounds like a squeaky shoe from its back end; it left a residue on my gloves that smelled like sweaty gym socks. Pretty cute li'l guys.

I swam with a wild manatee in silver glenn FL a year ago, and I thought it had pretty good pitch. Seriously, beautifully, manatees are so gentle and peaceful.

Question: Do dragonfly count as something that can propell with gas? I'll need to find sources but I heard they're able to expel water and gas through their abdomen not sure it's a significant propellant but worth looking into XD

Somewhere in my schooling a teacher suggested that manatees were the origin of sailors' stories about mermaids. Those sea voyages must have been very very long.

the best fact i know about farts is that in Proto-Indo-European, the reconstructed language that is the common ancestor of English, Latin, Greek, Sanskrit, etc. linguists have reconstructed one word that means a loud fart and another that means a soft fart
