The power of music is huge, I couldn't imagine life without it. Nor would I want to, it's there for the good times, the bad times, and everything inbetween. I've lost myself for hours many times both listening to music, and playing an instrument. Closest thing to a religious experience I've ever had, music is my god. Great video, appreciate what you do. Cheers 👍

As a semi-professional classical musician - and long-time raver - music has the ability to focus me, as well as allow me to escape. It's power to frustrate me, as well as free me, is why I always come back to it.

Tell us what you guys think. Can music take on this deeper role? EDIT: We recognize a mistake on the dates regarding the lifespan of Carl Yung. The correct dates are (1875 - 1961) we apologize for the confusion and will work hard to identify small mistakes in the future.

i really enjoyed this video. I have always been intrigued by music's ability to tap into a person physically and emotionally. It can make a body move with just a combination of vibrations. So interesting. I like what you said about music focusing you into the present.

I think of how they used tones and melodies to develop the early techniques for meditation

It's funny to think of Einstein as a musician haha
@mozartsbumbumsrus77507 ай бұрын
Einstein plated the violin. He played with Rudolf Serkin. The famous story goes..."No, no, no Albert! Can't you count? It's 'one, two, three, one two three!"

Actually, it's incorrect. You begin by saying "It's not about...." You should learn about "Program" music. Debussy wrote "La Mer", about, um, the clue in the title (translate it yourself!) Beethoven's 6th symphony is about "feelings being in the countryside" because he didn’t want to write Program music, and yet, he did! (watch Disney's 'Fantasia'. Remember the storm!). Liszt, R. Strauss, Tchaikowsky, Scriabin, Schoenberg, Copland, Bernstein, Rimsky-Korsakov Ravel, Stravinsky, Mozart, Bach, Brahms, ALL serious high art classical musicians/composers wrote about concrete things and program music, facts tothecontrarynotwithstanding. Music IS life! Life IS music. The brain is changed dramatically by serious high art classical music and music-making, and "pure" non program music, not only on the microscopic nano level of atoms, particles, bosuns, etc , dendrites, axons and neurons and hormones and DNA, genetics, environmental nature/nurture, but visible to the naked eye, as well. Serious high art classical music and music-making makes people better human beings because more area of the brain AND body is utilized and employed than any other human activity. Einstein wanted to be a musician because a musician lives a more complete, full and encompassing life. It's unlimited! Businessmen/women, triadic personalities (Narcissist, psychopath, Machiavellian), politicians and dictators like tRump, Putin, Netanyahu are life-challenged and miss(ed) out on life totally. They missed the boat, were absent when they passed out brains. The totality of learning a "proper" musical instrument "properly" requires full stamina concentration and TRUE proper integration, multitasking that the sapiens entity is built for! There is no room, no truck for any bad thinking or behavior nonsense on brain/physical level or any level when engaged in serious high art classical music-making and its aftermath! It's all good! It builds the brain and body only in positive constructive ways, integrating the personality and physical to do good and best behavior and paves the way for both mental and physical and societal health. Socially affiliate, serious high art classical music and music-making changes the brain. It diminishes the amygdala physically and functionally and reduces the production of glucocorticoid and lowers anxiety, fear, fight-or-flight and violence and hatred and murderous thoughts and negativity of all kinds. Serious high art classical music and music-making "oils" the mechanics and machine of not only the organs, hands and brain-eye-hand communication and function. It inspires imagination, creativity, invention, empathy, kindness, humility, doubt, respect, reverance for life, a love ethic as bell hooks describes and defines it in her beautiful book, "all about love". The all-important value of mistakes - all vitally important for discovery, learning, improving, advancing and materializing new ideas. It is the crucible of imagination and creativity. It is NOT the "golden egg"! It is the goose who laid the golden egg(s)! Serious high art classical music and music-making is Love. Serious high art classical music and music-making causes improvement of right thinking that is part of the solution not part of the problem. Neuroscience and neuroendocrinology are beginning to scratch the surface of the most complicated thing in the universe/multiverse/cosmos - the brain - and to understand and reveal the importance of the Mother of ALL the arts: music. The oldest musical instrument yet discovered is only a mere 40,000 years old. It's a flute made from the radius of the mid area of the wing bone of a Griffin Vulture found in the Hohle fels cave area. It's professionally made so in no way was it the first one. It's acoustically and mechanically engineered with precision and professional knowledge and oft-repeated practice and repetition! It surely must go way further back to the dawn of tool-making as I am convinced that serious high art classical music and music-making was (and still is!) the main and most vitally important TOOL for problem-solving and creating imagination and having ideas! The quotes from Schopenhauer, Nietzsche et al take on a more fuller meaning and importance therefore!
