Alien gear chest rig holster, I use mine while riding my Harley and my dirt bike. Sits right in the center of your chest.

Not a bad choice. I use something similar for bicycling. I run a kydex shoulder rig for my motorcycle, though.

I had not thought about shooting with my motorcycle gloves. I guess I had thought that the most likely scenario was at a gas station, where I would probably have my gloves off, but I need to think about it.

if you're worried about getting your finger into the trigger guard or concerned about an ND check out the Richa Squadron gloves. Heavily inspired by the Oakley Mil Spec Gloves and are still CE rated and armoured. Very Form fitting gloves and by far the most comfortable pair I've owned

Let my concealed carry expire this month and need to take the course again. Signed up and was refreshing. Found you on a bike on the other channel. Came over here and just subbed because I do enjoy both hobbies and life style. Looking forward to exploring your videos. I also smoke a pipe. So I came up with Blake's Pipes! Hope to make a channel this year.

If you are right handed, carry left, right hand is on the gas. Always flee if you can, if not, shot off hand. Practice off hand.
@groggysword335 ай бұрын
I’m glad I’m left handed for this instance.
@frugalsoul99842 ай бұрын
But left hand is needed for the clutch and you're most likely to be attacked while stopped. If you let go of the clutch without planning to ride off now the bike lurches forward and falls on your leg which seems to be detrimental to defending yourself. Well maybe they'll laugh themselves to death. The truth is there's no good method while your hands are busy riding so it's better to carry how you normally would to be ready for the most likely time someone will attack you which is when you're stopped and occupied getting on or off the bike

My issue is where to conceal. I ride ADV. bikes and generally carry for bear and other predator protection. I'm usually wearing armor under a jersey, with a camel back over that. I also want to carry in a place where I don't injure myself by landing on the gun in case of an off. We are in and out of towns and restaurants, so open carry isn't ideal. All of my luggage is soft and unlockable, so leaving it on the bike isn't a great option either.
@starlordnetzero9633 Жыл бұрын
I also ride and ADV and have been carrying appendix - it's OK for the HK P7 or P365 but I want to carry my Glock 19 Gen 5. I live in a Const Carry state and am thinking about going to a drop holster thigh (not hip) but worried if the bike goes down (not uncommon on an ADV off road) I don't want the gun to be a blunt instrument and break my hip or leg. It's a tough problem with no clear good answer. Maybe a shoulder rig would be best
@diegolopezzz182 ай бұрын
You should look into mesh jackets homie, nowadays they make great options for the v-twin/cruiser aesthetic that are really breathable and have decent padding

I ride an Indian Springfield and started with appendix IWB and haven't changed since. It is just the most comfortable to me. I ended up going with TABs and medium and Zombie baffles. I'm sure the Rinehart's are great as well.

I ride the same bike. I've been doing pocket carry but I'm concerned about being in a wreck and having this gun piercing my body. All of the positions seem to present some exposure to this.

@@RamblinManMoto I use a Kidex type holster that has a pretty small footprint for a P365XL. I just don't feel comfortable having my gun behind me where it could potentially be messed with. In front, I have control of it at all times.

I keep the P365 in a Vedder kydex holster in the tank bag. Best I could do. Can't work the clutch, brake(s) and gun at one time anyways. I go off road a good bit and don't want to fall on it either. But I like the shoulder holster idea on highways!

Started thinking about if I went down with my gun on my body... how much damage is that gun going to cause my chest or hip...
@noaheads4107 ай бұрын
Drop leg holster or shoulder holster would be the least damaging options in my opinion
@daxisperry76447 ай бұрын
That’s why I don’t carry on the lower back (6 o clock). But I would think if I dumped the bike hard enough that the gun on my hip would do damage, I think the crash is already gonna do 99% of the damage.

Wouldn’t it be like having more padding?
@RamblinManMoto5 ай бұрын
@@supa819819 I pocket carry and I share this guy's concern about what happens in an accident. I think at 80 mph, having that hit the ground is going to result in the gun going into your leg, not like padding.

That should be the mindset of every person carrying... half the reason I don't typically carry is I don't believe any situation warrants needing it... atleast any normal situation you run into in life's day to day grind... between road rage to someone robbing you or a store... it's just not needed... our society has become way to comfy with the idea of throwing away a life over some petty bs... but that's my opinion...

Many things to consider. I have what I call police gloves. They are kevlar lined and not overly thick. Great protection for your hands against road rash. I think they were called friskars. Larger pistol, like a Glock model 17, 21, 26 or 30, have a larger opening in trigger guard. Helmet suggestion from me is a clear shield with an inner flip down tinted shield. I have an HJC helmet that is modular so front can be flipped up or just flip up shield. My state is concealed carry only so jackets, vests and such are good to conceal. Retention holsters are best. I don't have hard bags, or any lockable bags for that matter. And some places we go are a no go for weapons. So, unfortunately, gun would get left home as I don't want to go to jail. Locking bags will be a future purchase. Any other brand suggestions besides Viking or factory Harley bags? Viking bags get a bad rep for lock breaking and no customer support and Harley is expensive as hell. I never seem to have the luck of finding used to fit my bike. Sorry for such a long post. Hope some of my tips helped.
