The joy of origami is so simple: a piece of paper and a pair of hands

Hey Kevin, this is badass! Thanks for sharing. I have a question, I'm really hoping you can help me. Everytime I try to make double tissue paper, it always ends up curling up on the edges. I'm using methylcellulose. Can you tell me what brand of tissue paper you use and a quick summary of how you make your tissue paper. I would appreciate it so much. I'm desperate.

That's happened to me before as well, mixing MC a little thicker helps. The other thing I've done is when the corners dried first, I'd add books on top of them while the rest was finishing drying. But the thicker MC has solved the problem for me

@@ArtOfFold Thank you, that's what I've been trying to do is make my MC thicker and put some things on the edges. Can I ask what brand of tissue paper you use? Thanks again Kevin.

@@RobertGarrett19 This is one of the main brands I use amzn.to/2ZdrmYU I mostly go with those because of how many color options they have and you can buy single colors in bulk

@@ArtOfFold How sturdy are these tissue papers? I ask because in my area I use the brand Spritz that is exclusive to Target (I believe Target is only available in the USA) because all the other brands tear when I even try to apply MC Glue unless they're pearlized. (Any brand I've found that had a pearlized sheet worked amazingly with MC Glue) I do love the brand of Tissue Paper I use. You can find some single color 8pk of the main colors you would want to use like red, yellow, blue, etc, and they don't bleed. There are also ALOT of $3.50 3 color 20pk combos, 2 types of $5.50 rainbow assorted colors 50pk, and occasionally some pearlized monochromatic colors in 20pk or 8pk. They're a little expensive, but the fibers are SO STRONG, and it takes ALOT for the tissue paper to tear when applying MC Glue. However, as much as I love the brand, it's nearly impossible to find black, brown, grey, and orange without spending a fortune buying just the $5.50 rainbow assorted 50pk, and the 20pk/50pk tissue papers bleed. This is why I ask as I'm thinking about buying those colors in this brand because of the price being super cheap, and I would easily get more than enough of the colors I want, but I'm afraid of spending money just for it to tear when I apply MC Glue.

Hello, this is super cool! I see that in many of your videos you use a specific "thin" tape to connect your sheets of treated tissue paper. By any chance, do you remember what type of tape it is or where to find it? (my guess would be document repair tape) thanks!
@ArtOfFold2 жыл бұрын
It's called transparent mending tissue, it's super thin and archival quality. It's made by Lineco, which is the same company I get my MC from. This is the exact one I use amzn.to/3Ge7ZDI

It's too cool?!!! I want to make a smaller one, too! Is there any diagram or tutorial of this 2.0head? Cause it's really a hard thing to fold the head only by ancient dragon v2's diagram.

There’s a book called Origami Dragons Premium by Makoto Yamaguchi for the entire ancient dragon 2.0. I used the head from that and combined it with Mi Chen’s idea of the mount he did with the original ancient dragon
